it was a nice friday night. peggy was nine months pregnant and chris couldn't be happier with the little family he was going to have. she was getting ready for bed after she had just done her skincare routine she felt something trickle down her leg. her eyes widened and she leaned against the bed and stared at the wall in front of her. peggy's heart beat quickened as she was kind of horrified since it was her first child; she didn't know what to expect. peggy took in deep breaths as she awaited for a contraction and sure enough it hit.

"fuck!" peggy yelled and whimpered as the first contraction had hurt way more than she expected. she heard footsteps run up the stairs and chris bursted into the room. "what's wrong, is the baby coming, are you okay?" he asked quickly and she groaned at him, "i need to sit down-" and another contraction had come and it hurt way more than the first one did. she groaned and leaned into his figure whimpering gently. "the baby's coming." she muttered.

"yeah no shit." he mutters and she sighed, sitting on the bed and looked up at the ceiling as she took in deep breaths knowing that her stress could hurt her or the baby. chris quickly grabbed her duffle bag, slinging it over his shoulders while he placed peggy in his arms and carefully but quickly made his way to the car. "i'll be back dodge." he said quickly as he had glanced at his dog with a ball in his mouth. he made it to the car and placed her in the back as she had wanted to lie down. he put the duffle bag under her head to use as a pillow and he jumped in the driver's seat.

chris drove swiftly to the hospital, with one hand on peggy's stomach and the other on the wheel. she screamed at a contraction that was far worse than the last two and chris gripped your hand as she had gripped his. "everything's okay, doll, we're almost there.." he mumbled gently and he turned into the hospital parking lot closer to the entrance. he didn't really care where he parked, just as long as it was close to the entrance and if it was in anybody's way, he'd move it once he knew his wife and baby was okay.

he got out of the car and swiftly went to the back of the car and carried her in, leaving the duffle bag for later and bolted into the hospital. he yelled at someone to open the door from the inside and he ran in as soon as someone opened it. "my wife, she's in labor, she's been having contractions and so far she's had three." he told the nurses and doctors coming to get her. they laid her on a gurney and he followed the nurses into a room.

one doctor noticed that he followed and stopped him at the door, "sir i'm doctor maybelle and i'm going to ask you to sit down and wait till she's going into labor. right now she's having contractions; you said she's been having three contractions yes?" she asked and he nodded quickly. "okay sir, the baby is still most likely finding it's way to come out, so it's not exactly ready yet. once we get your wife.." she paused for a name and he quickly said "peggy, peggy evans," and she nodded, "okay once mrs. evans is all cleared up we will have you stay in the room with her along with her while she's in labor. we'll call you in about fifteen minutes so we can check on the baby and make sure she's alright."

chris sighed in frustration but nodded anyway. he went to the waiting room and had texted "the avengers" group chat telling them that peggy had just gone into labor and lyne was doing well. he put his phone away only being anxious about her. he tapped his foot and popped his knuckles as he waited to hear back from the doctor and sure enough she came back and said that he could be in the room with her. he followed the doctor to the room and smiled to see her face.

"hey doll, how're you doing?" he asked you and peggy chuckled softly with a shrug as he leaned over to kiss her head, "i'm doing okay, i just need our baby to come out because damn she's giving me really bad contractions-" she groaned as she felt another and chris came to her side and held her hand. the contraction died down and she whimpered gently looking over at her husband and you sighed a shaky sigh. "for the first time, i'm scared." she muttered with tears in her eyes and he shushed her gently and caressed her cheek.
