this is gonna be a lil captain america/ steve rogers one :)
"how come you never have a 'take your kid to work day'"? lyne asks with a sigh as she sat at the dinner table with her father steve. she picked at her food as she ate in front of steve. steve sighed at her question that he probably answered about a million times. every since steve put her in school, she started first and second grade, it's all she's been asking. "honey, you know i can't take you to the avengers tower. it's far to dangerous for you." he said and finished his food and his eyes gazed over at her untouched food. "baby, eat your food or you're gonna get a tummy ache." he said and she huffed, looking up at her dad before shrugging, sitting back in her chair with her arms crossed.
"not hungry." lyne said and began to climb down her chair making steve roll his eyes. standing up from his chair, he went over to the girl and sat her in her chair. "yes you are. you told me you were when you came home." he states and she shrugs. "i'm not now." she answers and climbs down the chair again. he sighed, scratching the back of his neck and sighed. he'd love to take her with him, but who knows when someone decides to start a fight? he definetely wouldn't want his daughter in the mix. she'd be killed, or taken away from him. just the thought of it gave himself chills. he cleaned the dishes and walked over to where his daughter would usually be: in her room, admiring the action figures scott had bought her.
he smiled gently and walked in at the sight. "can i join?" he asked gently and lyne smiled nodding. "yeah, you can be uncle tony." she said and steve furrowed his brows. "why do i have to be tony? why can't i be captain america?" he asked with a soft laugh and lyne looked at him like he had said something crazy, "because." she states and he smirked gently, "because..?" he asked and she huffed, "you wanna play or not?" she asked and he chuckled with a nod, "yeah, yeah, okay. i'll play." he answered with a smile. after playing for about half an hour, lyne sighs and turns to her dad, "are you extremely positive you can't take me?" she asked and her dad sighs again, "lyne-" "i know i ask all the time but uncle queens is young like me!" she states.
steve cocks a brow with a smile, "he's older than you. even though he looks like a seven year old, he's older than you'd surprisingly." he said and she rolled her eyes. "i'm gonna make sure i go to your work. all of my friends get to go to their daddy's or mommy's work. i never go." she whines and steve raises a brow. "is this what this is all about?" he asked pulling her towards him after he set aside the iron man action figure. he sat her in his lap and leaned against the wall with a gentle sigh. stroking her hair he spoke, "just so know you my work is way cooler than your friends' parents' work. i get to fight crime and have a little bit of fun." he said and lyne shrugged. steve continued after having her face him, "but you have to know that i cannot risk your life. i love you so so much, lyne. i never and never ever want to lose you. i do these things because i love you. if i take you to my work, your life could be in danger and maybe the meanies will take you away. i don't want that. i want my daughter safe and happy alright?" he said and lyne nodded.
leaning into his chest, lyne hugged her dad and she sighed. "i don't wanna ever never lose you either daddy."
