she admittedly felt giddy, like a school girl sneaking out of her dorm to see her crush in the middle of the night. hushed kisses, stolen glances. except she wasn't fifteen and still in love with darren lachlan, she was nineteen, and this wasn't some guy, she had a helpless crush on, this was tom, her -well- whatever the hell he was.
her hands were covered by the ridiculously long jumper she had stolen from him the night before. it smelt like tom and it sounded weird but it was the only thing that had helped her sleep after they went back up.
the living room light was already flicked on as she groaned. "told you i'd her here first." tom winked.
"you cheated." she pouted.
"sorry, darling."
josie stuck her tongue at him and flopped onto the couch, propping her bare legs up on top of his. "so, why can't you sleep?"
he shrugged. "same as last night, i guess."
she hummed.
tom rolled over in his spot and moved back until his head was on her lap. she didn't mind in the slightest, allowing her hands to run through the soft, dark brown locks.
"what about you?" he asked.
"didn't feel like sleeping."
"how teenage rebellion of you." tom laughed.
"i'll have you know i was very bad." josie huffed. "i snuck out once."
"oh yeah? did you go visit the boy next door?"
she giggled. "definitely."
tom shook his head in mock disappointment. "and here i thought you were a good girl."
she leaned down and whispered. "there's a lot you don't know about me."
"how funny." he groaned, pushing her head away.
"we should go outside." she finally wondered out loud.
"it's freezing. you want to go out in shorts and my- is this mine." tom chuckled, pulling at the blue material that covered her thighs.
"yep."
and with a little convincing from both parties, they went outside, clad in puffy jackets and pajama pants that didn't help much to block out the cold. josie threw snowballs at his back and screeched loudly when he whipped around and chased after her.
they made snow angels and built small snowmen that each had their own names. tom had spun her around and they danced happily as the snow continued to fall around them.
when the pair were slick cold, they went back inside and told stories on the couch, leaning against each other until he laid back and she moved next to him, holding her self up, she slowly pushed the hair out of his eyes. tom had watched her carefully, not sure what she was going to do.
"tom?" josie whispered, tracing his jawline with her fingers.
"yeah." he responded, his breathing strangled.
"what are we?"
"what do you want to be, darling?"
"more." she replied.
tom nodded in agreement. "me too."
probably from the lack of sleep she had gotten in the last three days she smiled and leaned down. "okay. will you be my girlfriend then?"
he has barked out a laugh and nodded against her head. "sure, love."

olivia wiped the sleep from her eyes as she yawned and jogged down the stairs. the sun was just started to rise and peak in through the windows that lined the kitchen sink. she didn't stop to look in the living room and headed straight for the fridge.
everyone was still asleep and she had been basically kicked awake by charlie who announced that josie was missing, again. so she was sent down on sister scouting.
the coffee machine whirled to life and liv rolled her eyes fondly as she finally spotted her sister, curled up on the couch pressed against the handsome british man everyone assumed was still in his room. josie was snoring softly and her head was tucked under his chin and her hands were gripping his maroon t-shirt.
the younger anson grabbed the nearest pillow and tossed it at tom's head, both young adults jerking awake and scrambling to their feet when they noticed who was watching them.
"hey, liv..." josie drawled out.
tom rubbed the back of his neck. "hey, little anson."
"you do realize it's five in the morning and when we fell asleep at two, you were both in your rooms?" she pressed her hands against her hips.
"i couldn't sleep." josie admittedly said. "tom was awake too, so we just kinda came downstairs to hang and then fell asleep."
she eyed them both. "that's it, huh?"
"yep." they replied in sync.
and if she didn't believe them, well that was for her to know.
