"It was a disaster!" Kaycee said and hid her face behind her hands.

Tahani who had her phone in her hand and watched the video shook her head. "What are you talking about?" she said frowning. "That is amazing. Just as always"

"No, I was dying" Kaycee said and dropped onto the blanket.

They were at the lake again, the girls sat on the sand while the boys were busy with drowning each other. Neither Kaycee nor Tahani, Tati or Bailey wanted to die today but the guys definitely tried it.

"But it doesn't look like you were dying" Bailey said. "And that's important, isn't it?"

"Yeah" Kaycee responded and closed her eyes. "You're right, probably"

"I'm always right." Bailey grinned. "Did you find out something about Sean's offer?"

Kaycee rolled her eyes even though they were closed. "You are pretty curious, could that be?"

"Maybe. So? You did?"

"No," Tati responded. "Not even Serris knows something. Seems to be a really secret project."

Kaycee opened her eyes again and looked at her new friends. "He said he would turn it down anyway. So why think about it so much?"

"He said he would probably turn it down. He still thinks about it" Tati corrected her.

Kaycee shot her a glare. "But he seemed to be pretty convinced he wouldn't take it." She sat up and looked at her phone which was suddenly ringing. On the display stood the name Lucy. "Oh, I have to take that." She stood up and walked a few meters away from the girls to answer the call.

"Hey Luce, how're you doing?" She asked and sat down in the shadow underneath a tree.

"As good as I can without you here" The voice on the other side laughed. "How's Seattle?"

Lucy was a friend of Kaycee who lived in New York. The last few days the two wrote with each other but Kaycee always forgot to call her. While they were talking, she began to draw random pattern in the sand.

They talked for a bit until Lucy had to go. Kaycee promised to call tomorrow and the call ended.

"Hey, would you mind if I sat there?"

Kaycee looked up surprised only to see Sean standing in front of her. "Sure, sit down," she said and frowned. "How can I help you?"

Sean laughed a bit and Kaycee did too, it was a quite strange thing to ask. "I mean, you probably don't need my help. I'm sorry. Did you want to say something?"

"I actually could use your help. I have a quite... weird request to ask" Sean looked at her seriously.

Kaycee tilted her head. "Okay"

Sean chuckled, then he sat down right next to her. "Alright, I know we don't really know each other and just met and didn't really talk to each other but I'd like to try something and I could really use your help," he said, serious again.

"Why mine?" Kaycee asked. She didn't understand why he wouldn't ask one of the others. "Not that I'm not up for it, it's just we... really don't know each other"

"Uhm" Sean pushed his hair back. "That's a bit difficult to explain"

Kaycee's eyebrows rose. "Okay?"

Sean shook his head. "Alright, I can't really tell you everything about it, okay? Let's say it has something to do with that offer I got"

"With that mysterious offer you wanted to turn down?"

"Right. Maybe I don't have to. But I would need your help"

"It would be easier to say whether I can help you if you would just tell me what this offer is" Kaycee said and looked Sean into the face.

The boy looked onto the lake. "Yeah, I know. But I can't. Not yet. If that works what I want to try then I can tell you"

"Then tell me what you want to try" Kaycee said laughing. "It's like you beat around the bush"

Sean tilted the head from one side to the other and closed his eyes. "I know!" he said, then he also started laughing. "It has something to do with dancing. So has the offer. But I need a partner for it and I thought about you," he looked at her, "only if you are comfortable with it. I want to try how we work together"

Kaycee looked at him. "Okay," she said.

"Okay?" Sean asked and tilted his head.

"Okay" Kaycee repeated. "I'm up for it. Why not try something new?"

"Right, why not" Sean nodded. "I have a choreography in mind that I would like to try with you. Are you free tomorrow?"

"Sure" Kaycee said. "Thought about going to dance class but we dance anyway, do we?"

"Yes" Sean nodded approvingly. "I mean, we can go and meet afterwards"

"Sounds good to me. Jojo has class tomorrow, I would like to attend. Her choreos are breath taking" Kaycee looked at the blankets were the girls sat. They looked back, questioningly. She could feel that this day would get pretty exhausting. They probably wanted to know everything.

"Yeah, Jojo is amazing" Sean agreed. Then he stood up and offered her a hand to help her.

"Gentleman?" Kaycee asked as she took it to stand up.

"Always" Sean said smirking, then they walked back to the others.

"What's up?" Tahani looked curiously from Sean to Kaycee.

"Nothing," both said simultaneously and got looks that said something like 'are you serious?'.

"You guys are goddamn annoying" Sean said and sat down. Kaycee followed his lead and sat cross-legged.

"We have to be, you don't tell us anything" Tahani responded and crossed her arms.

Sean rolled his arms. "Because I don't have anything to tell you. So, can we change the topic? Anyone coming tomorrow?"

And with that, the group was busy with thinking about the new choreography Jojo would have in the next dance class.

"Alright everyone, watch and wonder!"

Music started and Jojo began with the choreo. Today's song? Bad at love by Halsey.

"Wow, that's cool," Kaycee said and shift her weight from one leg to the other.

"It really is" Bailey nodded.

The music ended a bit later and Jojo stopped. "Everyone ready?" she asked and the whole group nodded.

They started as always, getting the choreo in, then the girls on their own, then the boys. After some improvements from Jojo it was time for the duet.

"Everyone, look for a partner!"

Before Kaycee could do anything, Sean appeared next to her. "Care to dance?" he asked and implied a bow.

"I'd love to" Kaycee responded grinning and they looked for some free space.

They started with the music and it was different than the last times they danced together. Usually, they always practised with someone else before or got some instructions by the choreo. Right now, nothing was arranged except the choreo. Still everything fitted.

Dancing with Sean was something different. Kaycee never experienced something like this but she wished it would never stop.
