I woke up to the smack of a cotton pillow. I turned on my back and looked up.
"Fiona, what the fuck?"
Which was proceeded with the smack of my phone.
"He texted!" she screamed, hopping around the room.
"Who?" I said and attempted to adjust the brightness of the sun beaming through my window.
"David Dobrik!"
I yawned and checked my notifications.
Unknown Number: Hey"I don't even know if this is him. It's a random number."
Fiona rolled her eyes. "Of course it's him. Just ask 'who's this.'"
I sighed and began typing on my phone. "There. You happy now?"
Fiona smiled wide and flopped herself on the bed. I raised my eyebrows.
"What are you excited about? You're not gonna see him."
Her smile immediately faded. "What?"
I laughed and stood up. "After what happened last night, you're never talking to him again."
I walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind me. Fiona stood outside the door. "But what if he falls in love with me?"
I giggled. "Yeah, okay. Like this is some Wattpad story a fifteen-year old wrote."
I finished up and walked outside to my closet. I yanked the closet door, but it would not open. I attempted again, and still, nothing.
"Fucking hell. I hate this dorm." I moaned, kicking the shutter of the closet.
Fiona sat at the small, foldable table sat next to the bathroom with a cup of coffee in hand. "Well, it's only a couple more weeks for you to stay here."
She was right. In two weeks, I was moving to an apartment outside of campus by myself. It was prohibited for an underclassman, let alone a freshman, to live outside the dorms, but considering I had a busy job besides my classes, the dean let me go. It also helps to accidentally flash a tit before you leave his office, but whatever.
I checked my phone. 8:23. "Shit!"
I kicked the door once more, loosening the closet open. Fiona frowned. "Aye, watch it, Karate Kid. You may be leaving, but my broke ass has to stay here."
I sat in my small cubicle which was supposed to be an office, but I guess junior copywriter is not that big of a deal. To me it is, considering all the other junior copywriters are in their late 30s, early 40s and I was an 18 year-old university student.
I checked the time. 3:58
I began to pack my things into my bag when a voice sounded behind me.
"Hey, how are things coming along?"
Goddamnit.
Every time I hear his voice I know I am going to have a nice, long fifteen minute conversation about absolutely nothing.
"Hi, Harry. Yeah, things are coming along good. This job didn't take long to adjust to."
"That's great to hear, especially since this is your first real job."
I tried not to be offended by that comment, but he was right. The job I had before this was working at a grammar school after hours program and that was hell, so I just smiled awkwardly at him.
The phone in his office began to ring.
"Ah, saved by the bell." he said. No kidding. "I'll see you tomorrow. Have a good night."
I waved and quickly grabbed my bag before anyone else would take away my studying time. I went to grab my phone when I noticed a text message on my screen.
This is David. David Dobrik. Sorry. Forgot to mention that.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stop myself from turning a bright red.
I fell on top of my bed and raised my phone to my face, re-reading his text.
Me: Oh, hi!
David D: I was wondering if you were free Saturday to be in a clip for my vlog.I was ecstatic. I did not even think of my schedule.
Me: Yes, I'm free. Just send me the place and time and I'll be there.
I threw my phone on my bed and pumped my arms in the air. "Ah!"
Fiona opened the front door. "The fuck is wrong with you?"
I sat up and smiled. "David wants me in his vlog on Saturday."
Fiona dropped her books on the floor. "No. Fucking. Way."
She ran into my arms and hugged me. "Oh my God! You're gonna be Mrs. David Dobrik!"
I pulled her away from me and frowned. "Okay, let's chill now."
Buzz.
We both launched for my phone, Fiona snatching it first. "Fiona!"
She read the screen. "He's gonna be pick you up!"
"What!" I yelled.
Fiona rolled her eyes. "Well, I mean, on Saturday. Of course."
I yanked my phone out of her hands and read it. "Holy shit."
Ahhhh! I know this was a short chapter but more will be coming soon!
