Huh? Oh, hello there. You chose to read this book for a purpose, did you not? Of course you did. Maybe something in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame made you feel depressed and you chose to read this book hoping that it'd give you the ending you wanted? Or did you choose to read this book simply because you were bored? Maybe you chose to read it since you were curious? Well, I can't really tell. People are different from each other after all.
You read the summary, didn't you? That's right. Stephen Strange has been through a lot ever since the events of Avengers: Endgame. Perhaps he couldn't accept the ending that this world has decided to give to him. Perhaps it was way too cruel to be accepted after all. Maybe that's why he decided to curse the time stone, so that, after the deaths of all the heroes he loved, time would go back to the very beginning.
He had used the Quantum Realm, claiming to "check out something for one last time" in the past, but fooled everyone else. He took the Time Stone from the past, and used it to take everything back to where they used to be.
And so the time loops were created. Everytime one of the heroes die in the infinity war and the endgame, all the characters would travel to a different world; the 14,000,605 possibilites that Strange was talking about. But there's a limit. There are only 14,000,605 chances. Once that amount of chances runs out, there's no going back.
Other than the last time loop, Strange has made no progress so far. Thanos was just too strong for the heroes to beat him without one of them dying. Strange doesn't want a future like that. All he wants is a world where he and his friends could all live happily together. That's all he ever asks for.
But no one has ever come to believe him. They all think that he's being crazy because of what he says to them. He pleaded Wanda to go to Pietro multiple times already, but the girl didn't even listen to him. He also told Quill to bring an extra spacesuit so that Yondu wouldn't have to sacrifice his own, but the boy didn't listen to him, either. And he also told Carol to go to Xandar before the infinity war started, knowing that Thanos would be able to steal the power stone if she wasn't there and also knowing that someone as powerful as she could defeat him without the rest of the stones... but not even she listened to him.
And Strange is already on the verge of giving up. He has been going through 14,000,603 time loops already, and who knows if he would be able to get to the world that he always wanted? There was only one possibility, but Strange wasn't even happy with that. He wanted more, believing that there could be a happier world waiting for him out there.
Stephen Strange is currently at the 14,000,604th time loop, or at least it's about to start right now. On the 14,000,603rd time loop, Strange created some mysterious marvel that somehow made them win the infinity war... but he died in that world anyway. Many of them did. And no matter how many times he tries to change it, half of the universe is erased on April of 2018, and many of his friends die on the endgame.
There was one boy who Strange was mostly curious about: Loki Odinson. The birth son of Laufey, the son of both Allfather Odin and Queen Frigga, and the younger brother of Thor. Strange has created a team, consisting of the Avengers (including the new ones), the Guardians of the Galaxy, Nick Fury, Carol Danvers, Four Wakandans, Bucky Barnes, Loki Odinson, Nick Fury, Scott Lang, Hope van Dyne, Brunnhilde, and himself. And one day, he noticed this. In the team members, Loki is always the first person to get killed, other than Pietro Maximoff and Yondu Udonta.
But the date of Loki's death has always been on the infinity war, while Pietro dies years before and Yondu dies one year before. And Loki always gets killed by Thanos and no one else. It may seem like a coincidence, but Strange started to believe that there's more to this boy than he thought. A secret so deep that even Loki himself doesn't know about it. And it turns out he was right. On the 8,000,000th time loop, Strange discovered something mysterious about Loki after researching Jotunheim a lot, as well as the infinity stones. But that's a secret that I will not spoil to you, dear reader. You will have to find out about it yourself.
