The guardians of the galaxy were having a normal, typical day. Looking outside the starry galaxy outside of their ship or discussing things that they'd do in the future. Rocket was mostly watching over Groot, careful to make sure that the teenage tree won't do anything rebellious again. Ever since he had his hands on that game on his tablet, he has been acting turbulent and fractious. Rocket feels like he made a mistake giving Groot that tablet in the first place. He could throw it away if he wanted to, but that would only make the tree throw tantrums like a young child.
Drax was still practicing his 'invisible man' power, but Mantis captures him everytime. The destroyer isn't too happy about that at all. Meanwhile, while all of this is happening with the other guardians of the galaxy, Quill and Gamora talk beside the window that shows the image of a luminous star cluster.
"You're not the only one with daddy issues, huh?" Gamora questioned Quill.
"Why are you still talking about that?" asked Quill. "You know you have been free from that guy's grasp for years."
"That's not it. I'm just... I don't know. I'm terrified that he might come back to get me. He's the type of monster who has such a strong will."
"Gamora."
Quill then held her left shoulder with his own left hand, hoping that it could comfort her at least a little. He could understand Gamora's own hatred for her adoptive father, for he has been holding disgust for his real father. And to think that he even trusted him to begin with!
"If that happens, then we fight him off." Quill continued.
"How can you be so sure that you can defeat him?"
"I'm not. I'm just saying that I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
"T-Thank you, Quill..."
Quill understood Gamora's feelings very well. He had been longing for a father for such a long time, but his true father Ego wasn't the father he desired for. The true father he had been longing for was Yondu, who truly did care for him. He misunderstood that man; thinking that they kept him simply because of their desire for power. But no. They kept him because they wanted to protect him.
But unlike Yondu, Thanos was an abusive adoptive father to Gamora. Quill doesn't know if the titan truly cared for her or not, but he swore in his heart that he'd kill him once he gets the chance. That way, Gamora would have no reason to fear him anymore. You have no reason to be fearful of someone who's already dead.
On the other hand, Gamora could understand Quill, too. She thought that Thanos was going to be the perfect father for her and she even did everything he asked her to do, not knowing that she was being hyptonized. Only her friends were able to snap her out of that delusional state, and because of that, she was grateful for them.
"I am Groot."
"No!"
The two lovers heard Groot cursing again. This was something the former Groot wouldn't do, but ever since he reached his teenager stage, he has been acting rebellious and disobedient. And Rocket's irritation with his attitude really doesn't help in any way.
"Give me that!" They heard Rocket shout.
The sound of falling objects could be heard from the other room. Groot and Rocket were probably having a cat-and-mouse chase once again. This has been happening so much that it has become normal in the spaceship of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Then, the door to the room that Gamora and Quill were in opened, and in came a rushing Groot, who was still holding his gadget in his leafy branch hands. The door slammed into the wall, and as it was left open, a furious Rocket came in. They really were chasing each other, then. None of them really bothered to shut the door.
