Chapter 6 School Begins

Zerk looked down not believing his eyes, he had just gotten the most powerful dragon known! He looked over at his friends and saw to his surprise that his friends had been chosen too! Jean had sat down and was now stroking her brand new red spiked-clubbed tail. She had gotten the strongest red dragon possible. Here's how the colors worked black was the strongest, green was second, red was third, purple was forth, blue was fifth, yellow sixth, brown was seventh, and pink was last.

Looking around Zerk saw Peakle with the strongest blue dragon and Seath with the strongest brown dragon. He looked around some more and saw that a lot of eggs were hatching now. He saw a boy with long black hair that fell to his shoulders, a crooked nose as if he broke it an evil sneer and the strongest green dragon together next to him he saw a girl who resembled a cat kind of. She had the strongest purple with her to her right was another boy. He was huge he had a dark skin tone and strong mucles. He had the same evil sneer except he paid no attention to his dragon whatsoever which was yellow and was the strongest as well. To the boy with the green dragons left was a kid who was small but obviously was powerful because she had a pink dragon of the strongest kind.

Now looking at his friends he relized each of them were powerful. Peakle could technically do anything with his body, while Jean had two of the same abilities as him she could also change her appearance completely not that she needed to. Then their was Seath he could control electricity. He could controll technollogy summon small bolts of lightning (only because he was young) and have electricity course through his body.

He could also invent things out of scrap because it was natural.

Only now did Zerk appreciate their strength he then said,"we all got the most powerful of our color dragons."

Jean was the one to reply,"you got the strongest though. So you must be proud wait tell you see the look on your sisters face." All of his friends had met her and they all hated her so this was no surprise but before Zerk could reply Mr. Pery announced,"Alright that's all the dragons so if you were chosen follow me if you weren't wait here."

He walked to a door and opened it it led to a huge field. They same field they came threw and continued onward. He knew exactly where they were headed, they were going to be presented to the town. As they moved the other four kids who he saw in the cavern approached them. The girl who had gotten the purple dragon spoke,"well, well, well look who we have here our equals. You know I never knew a dragon to make a mistake and now four made a mistake. Pfft what a fail."

Jean replied ya how did you guys get them what a mistake."

The huge bulky dude with the yellow dragon exclaimed,"better watch your mouth or I might have to rip out your throat."

"Ya and how do you plan on doing that?" Peakle said bravely. The boy gave him a look and morgues into a lion and roared. Mr. Pery heard and looked around and laughed.

"Now boys save it for dueling class wouldn't you now four on four I think we have our first match up of the school year!" Mr. Pery announced loudly.

"Calm down they're just jealous that your with me." Firestar said in Zerks head. Zerk was so mad he couldn't wait for dueling class.

"So you just leave well at least give each other your names." Mr. Pery called again. They looked at each other and exclaimed names. The girl who looked like a cat was named Kila and the huge boy with the yellow dragon was named Drake. The other girl who was small and up close looked crazy was named Fila. The boy with the green dragon was named Dramen.

They turned and walked away. Mr. Pery led the small group of about twenty to a set of stairs which led to a set of huge doors. The doors were solid gold and embroded dragons were made into a pyramid. It took a little bit to relize that the dragons were placed according to strength on the very top of the pyramid was his very own dragon. He only relized this because Firestar told him.

"Please wait here until I return." said Mr. Pery. He turned and left I looked down at my dragon to see him playing with Seaths, Jeans, and Peakles dragons. They wrestled on the floor rolling over each other and snapping at each other. They all looked up from their dragons to see the four from earlier standing next to them. Then Drake pushed Peakle to the floor.

"Not so tough now that Mr. Pery's gone huh," he kicked Peakle in the ribsO. Then Seath who was closest filled his fingers with electricity and shocked Drake. Drake screamed and fell to the floor.

"Your not so tough either are you!" yelled Seath. The weird small girl who's name Zerk forgot went up and touched Seath. A look of horror came across his face and he fell to the floor cowering. The dragons weren't playing anymore but growling. Jean pushed her to the floor but was grabbed by Kila and was thrown to the floor. Now the whole group of kids were watching.

Zerk walked forward but was stopped by Dramen who punched him in the face it hurt. He fell but got back up and saw that Dramen was completely metal he smiled. He then said,"oh am I scaring you let me explain I can change the material of my skin." He laughed and slapped Zerk in the face. It felt like getting hit by a pole. Zerk fell again but this time tackled Dramens legs and knocked him to the floor. He saw his dragon fighting the green. Jean taking on the cat girl Kila. Peakle taking on Drake and Seath fighting the strange girl. He looked back to Dramen and punched him in the face. Here is a word of advice never punch metal.

Zerk felt his fingers break as it collided with the face of Dramen. Dramen then threw Zerk to the floor. He then yelled at him,"you idiot you can't hurt metal." Zerk felt his fingers straitening and looked up.

"Ya you can want to know how?" he said then he lit his hands on fire and continued,"you melt it." Only now did Dramen look truly scared. But before he could set Dramen aflame a voice said,"I can't leave you alone for ten minutes without a fight breaking out." Mr. Pery showed himself and said,"I told you, you can fight in dueling club tomorrow."

Alright now the city is waiting for you pick up your dragon and line up against the railing." he finished and walked out with the door open. As Zerk picked up his dragon he heard Dramen tell Zerk and his friends,"until tomorrow we'll see the true winner." He and his friends walked away laughing. With the black dragon in his arms he walked outside. The whole crowd whisled and cheered for him and his friends.

"I see my dad well see you guys tomorrow." Zerk relized two things walking toward his dad he must've gotten up at five am and it was already getting dark. As he reached his dad he saw his whole family Lisa included looking at him proudly well him and his dragon.

"I would like you guys to meet Firestar."

"Ya ok so that might be yours but we um we heard fighting. Tell us about that huh did you get into a fight." Lisa said.

"What are you talking about dueling class dosent start till tomorrow." replied Zerk.

"Speaking of classes we got yours." Zerks mother said. Zerk grabbed the paper she had and read it. On Monday he had dragon and rider lessons, on Tuesday he had dueling class, on Wedsday he had mental and physical training, on Thursday and Friday he had personal training. He passed this information to Firestar who seemed happy about it. He actually told Zerk,"as long as im with you." He already began to love his dragon. That night they had a feast with Peakle and his family, Jean and her family, and Seath and his family at a local restaurant. Zerk went home and talked with Firestar until midnight which is when they fell asleep.

The next day Zerk was woken up by his mother who told him he was going to be late for school. He had cereal real fast while feeding his dragon a chicken. He then ran to school his dragon could fly already he flew above him sometimes landing to run like a cat. Zerk got their right when school started and Mr. Pery said,"alright everyone here good since those eight who were fighting yesterday couldn't seem to stop they'll battle it out today. You may wager on the fight I could care less dragons will not fight. But will do some excersize instead okay let's go." He led them to a huge area with bleachers. He directed everyone but Seath and that weird girl to sit down. They were having on duel at a time it was actually a tournament. When he blew the whistle they charged each other.
