Chapter 18

Harley's P.O.V

I stumbled off the bed groggily, my eyes closed and head spinning.  Someone was banging on my door as if their life depended on it.  It was so dark in the as I slowly peeled my eyes open rubbing them now and again.  I fell for the wall with my tiny palms until I was by the door then remembered that I was naked as the day I came in this world.

"Shit, " I scratched feeling lazy to go back buy I had to choice so I turned in the dark room and tried walking but I ended up smashing my tiny toe on a corner of something which had me hissing and groaning ; that ish was painful as hell.

I then hopped to the bed to take my towel and wrapped it around my chest before walking back to the door where someone was still impatiently banging.  When I got there I turned the golden nob and pulled the door open only to be blinded by the light from the passage. I groaned shielding my eyes but then out of nowhere dead weight was thrown into my hands, I realized that it was a person, a man to be precious.  I was supporting him to stay up but damn he was so heavy I stumbled back and was about to fall to the ground.  My heart was beating fast with shock.

Who was this?

The unpleasant smell of smoke and smell hit my nostrils tickling them making me to almost sneeze.   Suddenly the person stood up on his two feet, his eyes connected to mine and I sort of recognized them but was not sure.  Out of nowhere I was turned and pushed towards the wall then a pair of lips smashed on mine causing me freeze where I was and after a while my mind scrambled up and functioned again.  I tried with all the force I had to push this person away from me but his body was heavy, I was like a damn wall. I felt helpless under him so I pushed harder and harder as flashes of Rafael came into my mind ran into my mind and it went into panic mode, I was not going through that again. I pushed harder, tears pooling on my eyes.  Finally I was able to get him just a bit off me, an inch away from me. My heart was thundering, the claws of fear gripping at me but then the light flow the passage shined on his face as I pushed him away.  His face was bruised and batted with dried blood along with smudges of ash and smoke but even with all those cuts and a busted lip I recognized who it was.  My heart skipped a beat and I did not waste time but pulled him back on to my chest and smashed my lips on him.  My tears feel as our lips moved together, it was the sweetest kiss I had ever had.  My hands went to his locks,  brushing threw them as his silky messy hair slid past my hand,  his arm was around my waist,  holding me as if I would disappear into thin air but I had the same feeling that is why I got closer and closer to him wanting to feel every inch of him. My body came to life, tingling under embrace.  His lips at first were smoky but then they were sweet and I could taste little bit of blood but damn I was in heaven,  my toes curled and my brain was floating in my head as I felt like I was flying. His tongues slipped into my lips and dear I thought I would just die there and there.  My whole body ached for him and I never wanted to let go.

My hands then moved from his curly hair to his nape,  I brushed the back of his neck then went down his back and felt the all his back muscles which my me even damper down on my lady parts but the his lips got slower and slower,  his body became heavier in my arms,  my eyes flicked open as his head bent backwards causing to quickly hold him tighter before he collapsed on the floor,  my arms were strained as I tried holding him up but it was damn impossible,  his eyes were shut and his feet dangling.

"Klaus," I started off lowly, my heart beating at my throat I thought it would choke me.

"Klaus, " I tried again shaking me in my arms,  fear gripping at me,  it then slowly sunk to the ground and kneeled with him laying idly while his upper body I held in my embrace his head right on my chest while I lightly shook him.

"Klaus!" I shouted, my voice breaking.

I finally turned towards the open door, "Rough! Rough! Rough!" I shouted as if my life depended on it then tried scooping Klaus fully into my arms with no success really.  Rough then came rushing in, his eyes scanning the room for any threat with his gun up and ready to shoot.

"I do not know what happened, we were...... And then.... He just collapsed, please help me... get him to the clinic." I said, my voice breaking.

Rough quickly tucked his gun away then came and tried to pick Klaus up but he was heavy even for him so I tried helping him to the Klaus off the floor.  After a few seconds we were able to get Klaus on Rough's shoulder. Rough then left the room crushingly and I followed suit behind him in panic phase. We got into the elevator and pressed -4 which was the floor where the clinic was,  the ride down was longer than normal,  I was placing all over the elevator trying to breath in and out.

Klaus had been there for me when no one was, he was there to help and support me after the shooting.  He had been kind to me at the poker game even at the ball.  He made me comfortable and gave me everything without even asking for anything in return. He was kind and a nice person, I just hoped he would be okay.  We finally reached the clinic and the doors opened to the room with only one guard there.

"Where is the doctor?" I asked frantically at the guard.

"He went back home ma'am, he just left five minutes ago." The guard said causing me to curse under my breath.

I took a deep breath before calmly saying "Call him please and tell him that Klaus fainted." The guard's eyes quickly flicked to Rough and then Klaus's body. He quickly went to the land line and dialled a number.

"Yes doctor, you are needed after all, the boss fainted.  Please hurry, it looks bad Doc. "the guard cut the call.

Rough went and placed Klaus on a hospital bed,  I went over to him and took his dirty hand into mine before leaning over and whispering in his ear
" please hold on,  please hold on,  I need you,  we need you. " I said lowly.

You know when someone you have been hiding your feelings for is suddenly in the brink of death. The person you have been trying to convince yourself you did not like,  the person who made your whole world more brighter,  the person you found yourself day dreaming about even though you scold yourself for it every time and try to kick him out of your mind. The feeling you get when you see that person laying on a hospital bed and you can do nothing to help them.
Fuck I did not wish that feeling on anyone.  The clock seemed to go slow and I never let go of his hand which was getting colder and colder each minute.  My heart was breaking, I could not lose anyone else.  I stood up and grabbed a blanket then draped it over his body.   Rough had gone back to his post, a few guards had come to guard the clinic, two inside, two outside.

After about fifteen long minutes the doctor walked in heaving.

"Sorry," that was the first thing he said before he dropped his bag. "Explain exactly what happened?" he then asked as he puked on blue gloves.

"We were....kissing and he started getting slower before his head went back and he fainted." I said then cleared my voice.

The doctor held a small torch light, opened his eye lids, and looked at his eyes one at a tine then his eyes travelled down Klaus's body. The doctor pulled the blanket off the tore his T-shirt off and observed.
My eyes trailed at Klaus's skin, it had scars all over, some running from his chest down to his abdomen.  I blinked back my tears as I squeezed his hand.  My watery eyes then settled on the new scars that had dried blood on them; he had scratches, bruises and burns.  I gasped, the burned looked fresh and messy.  The doctor the pulled off his boots then pants.  There were more scars there but what caught my eye was the burn which was fresh.  He had done them himself, I could see that it had been gun wounds but he closed by burning himself.

I could not help the tears as they rolled down my cheeks.

Oohh Klaus, my heart broke.
