Shattered glasses stabbed Chaeyoung's fist. The bleeding was the consequence of her, punching the mirror in the apartment she was living in with her girlfriend.
She was holding a pregnancy test tightly— with two lines drawn on it on her other hand, it was positive.
Her heart was aching and she couldn't breath, but tears aren't escaping her eyes. She's just glaring at the girl infront of her. She was mad, but not just mad but hurt, and not just physically but mentally and emotionally.
"How could you do this to me?" Chaeyoung confronts her girlfriend. The latter isn't even alarmed that the younger is breaking everything infront of her.
It looks like she doesn't care, and that's the most painful thing Mina had ever done to Chaeyoung today.
"It was a one time thing Chaeyoung." The girl answered coldly, she stood up and covered the bleeding hand of her girlfriend with the handkerchief that Chaeyoung gave her on the day that they first met.
"Don't you love me anymore?" Chaeyoung asked, still holding back her tears.
Mina stood up and sat in a chair in front of her. With a blank expression on her face, she says, "I'm tired."
"Of what?"
"Of this. Of us." Chaeyoung felt her ears peeked up with the words. She knows to herself that she did her best.
"What wrong did I even do to you?" This time, it wasn't even a question intended for Mina to answer. It was a question that she needed the world to answer, either it came from Mina or her. "Tell me Mina, did I ever do anything to hurt you? Did I ever lack?" She questioned.
Chaeyoung badly wants to see Mina to show emotions right now, this face right here is hurting her more— rather than the fact that Mina cheated. Mina did wrong but it wasn't the most painful part. Mina did wrong and she didn't even show a hint of regret.
"Yes, you lacked. You lacked a lot." It was a gunshot. Killing Chaeyoung slowly as blood gushes out of her body. Lightheaded and dizzy, her heart was so close to dying.
But despite noticing her unsurmountable pain, Mina continued.
"Everyday I go to work, and every time that I come home you're not here, because you're on a gig. We barely meet each other eventhough we're living together. I moved in with you because I love you, and I love you because you make me happy. But it wasn't like that anymore. I'm not happy anymore, so maybe it is what it is, maybe I don't love you anymore."
Broken. That's what Chaeyoung feels right now. How can love change so sudden? How can a person tell you they don't love you anymore when just months ago, promises were all you have for each other? Promises to be together, promises to love, promises to hold on, and promises to stay. All of it was gone in just one night, just one night with the consequence of a child and a lot of sacrifices.
"Six years Mina. Six fucking years. You ruined that because of a goddamn one night stand?" Her voice was breaking, lump on her throat are building up.
"You're right Chaeyoung. It was six years and during those six years, you loved your guitar more than you loved me!"
"It was my passion!"
"And I was your girlfriend!"
Silence. It was pure silence, and now they're both crying. Letting out everything that they haven't been able to let out for that past six years.
Finally, Mina showed emotions, because this time she meant it. What even happened? Why did it even had to end? They know they're not perfect but they loved each other. And maybe love wasn't enought to make it stay.
In a relationship, connection is one of the most crucial thing to have and maybe they don't have that. They've got problems that were left unsolved, and that's what caused them to grow apart.
