I woke up to the sun beaming in my face. My neck and back hurt, due to me sleeping on the floor. I got up to go to the bathroom. On my way out, I glanced at myself in the mirror. My eyes were swollen from crying, my hair looked horrible, and bruises wet forming on my neck and arms.

I figured he'd be back soon so I had to prepare myself. I walked back into the room and looked around. I pushed the desk in front of the window, which I noticed had bars. I climbed on top and took the rod out of the curtains.

I gripped it in my hands and swung it around a few times. I heard the click sound of the door being unlocked, so i moved to stand next to it. He opened the door and walked in. I ignored the tray of food in his hands and swung the rod to hit him.

He cursed and dropped the tray while holding his face. I hit him again making him fall to the floor. I grabbed the key that fell from his pocket and closed the door on my way out. I locked it and ran downstairs.

There was a guard blocking the door. He noticed me and moved forward. I backed up slightly into a table.

"You should be in your room." I waited until he was close enough so I could hit him upside the head with the rod. He fell out giving me the chance to run.

I headed for the gate and put in the numbers I saw him put in last night. I smiled when it opened. I got ready to run until I heard a gun being cocked behind my head.

"Don't move crazy bitch." I froze in place. He came up behind me and forced the rod out of my hand.

"Turn around." I turned slowly to face him. He had a bloody nose and was breathing hard.

"You trying to get your ass killed?" He asked while pressing the gun against my head.

"I just want to go home. I have no reason to be here." I said shakily.

"You not getting it? You belong to me. You mines, you not going nowhere." He grabbed me, bringing me inside. He brought me to the dining room and sat me down.

"Juanita, can you make Amber here a plate of food?" He said to one of the maids. She nodded and went to do so. He put the plate down in front of me and glared.

"Eat." He demanded. I clenched my jaw.

"I'm not your fucking dog!" I said while getting up. I pushed him out of my way and went upstairs to the room I was being kept in. I sat on the bed and rubbed my face while trying to calm my breathing down. I turned on the tv and saw that we were still being talked about on the news.

"Our reporter is at the Davis home now to speak to Amber's parents." The screen changed to my parents livingroom. I sighed seeing their faces. Both were holding back tears.

"We talk to our daughter everyday. I just want to hear her voice, to know that she's alive. I want my baby to come home." My mom said before breaking down. Hearing that and seeing her cry hurt me.

"You get five minutes." I heard from behind me. Rocky threw me what looked like one of those disposable phones. I looked at him confused but decided not to question it as I dialed her number.

"Tell her you're alright, you're safe but you're not coming home." He said. I waited for her to answer and sighed in relief when she did.

"Hello?"

"Mom? It's me it's Amber."

"My baby where are you are You okay? Are you hurt did you-"

"Hey, I'm... okay. I'm not hurt and I-I'm safe."

"I need you to come home baby." I sighed.

"I can't do that."

"Why the hell not?" Rocky was motioning me to hurry up.

"It's complicated. I have to go but I love you, so much. Tell daddy and Makelia I love them too."

"Amber wait-"

"Bye." I said before hanging up. I threw the phone at Rocky and burst into tears.

"Amber I-" he started but I cut him off.

"Just get out." He sighed and left the room. I managed to calm down a little after he left. a knock was heard at the door before it opened and Kennedy walked in.

"Hey, you okay?" I shrugged. She sighed and came to sit next to me.

"It gets better." I scoffed.

"You like being here with these dickheads?" She chuckled a little.

"They're not bad guys when you get to know them. And you'll get to know them because Rocky is not letting you go." I stood up pacing.

"I had a life. A job, my family, friends, a boyfriend. I was planning on going back to school to be a surgeon. But then he had to come along and snatch me away from all of that. And not you're telling me I won't be able to go back to any of that?" She sighed.

"I'm sorry. But look in the brightside. You'll be taken care of. You don't need a job."

"I don't want his dirty money. And I loved my job. I loved helping people."

"You can help around here. Just accept that you're not going back. Once you do that you'll be fine." I shook my head sitting down.

"I invited some friends over tonight since the boys are going out to handle some business. You can meet them and try to move on." She said before walking out. I took in her words and sighed.

What choice did I really have?
