"Wow you really have a death wish." I said while shaking my head.
"Remember that night, when I was gone the whole time handling business and when I finally got back, you hugged me. You said you were worried sick about me."
"So what? That doesn't mean anything."
"It means you care about me just as much as I care about you."
"Must not have been enough since you gave me up."
"I swear on everything that I was planning to get you back. You've got to believe me Amber." He pleaded. He walked up to me and lowered my gun.
"I never met a woman like you before. So passionate about everything and you care so much about helping people. Even the ones that don't deserve it. I never had anything like that in my life until you. That's why I need to keep that, to keep you. I need you Amber." He grabbed my hands. I chewed my lip and looked away.
"I can't be that for you anymore. I have a new life now, and I'm sorry but you're not apart of it." He grabbed my face.
"You can't stand here and tell me you don't feel anything for me." My head was spinning with thoughts and feelings. He was doing something to me and I didn't like it.
He leaned in and kissed me deeply. I couldn't ignore the feeling in my chest, but I just couldn't do this. I pushed him away and sent a right hook to his jaw.
"All i feel towards you is anger. Now get the hell out of my house." He held his mouth which was now bleeding.
"You'll be mine one way or another." He said before leaving. I sighed and leaned against the counter. I took a few deep breathes and went back to cooking.
When it was time, I sent Pete to pick up my family from the airport. I had the table set and the food ready. All i had to do was get ready. I went upstairs and changed into this.
I went back downstairs to check over everything again. I heard the car pull up and got excited. I stood in the foyer waiting for them to come in. Once the door opened and I saw my mother, I ran over and embraced her tightly.
"Oh my baby." She said as she hugged me back. I could tell she was crying, but I couldn't judge because my eyes were watering by the second. She pulled away and looked me over.
"Child what happened to your hair?" I laughed and hugged her again before moving to hug my dad. I missed his hugs so much. He still wore the same cologne that I missed as well. He grabbed my face and kissed my forehead.
I pulled away and hugged my sister who was standing impatiently. She smiled and wrapped her arms around me.
"Look at you, growing up so fast." I smiled and sniffled.
"Well puberty hit." She shrugged. I chuckled and hugged her again. I looked at my family and sighed happily.
"You guys don't know how much I've missed you."
