Tia's POV
I take a deep breath, looking back at the two men behind me. I was headed home. But you are home. I thought, not wanting to leave. I'm seventeen, and I will be for the next nine months. "Are you sure you can't stay?" Shawn pleaded, and I hung my head. "I wish I could, Shawn, but I can't move out on my own until I'm eighteen. I promise I'll be back as soon as I can, okay?" I assure him, and both boys crush me in a hug. I pull away and they were crying. I reach up and wipe away the tears on both of their faces. "I'll be back soon, okay? I'll see y'all as soon as I can." I promise them, struggling to hold back my tears. Then, over the intercom they announce my flight. "That's us, Chandler." I tell them, and and I stand up with my bags. I give Shawn another hug, and Chandler puts his arm around my shoulders after I pull away. "We'll be back soon, Shawn." I promise, and Chandler nods. "Asap." Chandler promises, and I squeeze Shawn's hand. "Make a stop in Tuscaloosa on your way to Orlando after Atlanta. I'll see you then." I promise him, and Shawn's nods with tears in his eyes. "And, I'll be seeing you in concert in Atlanta. I've already gotten the tickets and the bus fair there and back." I tell him, and they call my plane one more time. "Bye, Shawn. I'll see you soon." I promise him, and I walk away with Chandler. Chandler pulls me closer, and I lay my head on his shoulder as tears began to fall." I miss him already." I tell Chandler, and he just hugs me close.
Shawn's POV
I watch them walk away, tears falling from my eyes. "I miss her already..." I whisper, clutching the shirt she borrowed her first night out of the hospital. I watched them walk away, Chandler's arms around Tia's shoulders as she cried, the two of them leaving together. That was supposed to be me. "Tia!" I yelled, running after them. They stop at the gate, turning around. I leaned down, gently grabbing Tia's face as kissed her. "Sh-Shawn..." Tia said as she pulled away. "Ma'am, sir, we need to go." The flight attendant urged, and Chandler pulled Tia towards the plane by the elbow. "We'll talk about this as soon as Chandler and I land."She promises me, and the lady shuts the door behind the two. I stare at the door, hoping it reopens for Tia to come running back out at me. I know it was stupid to hope for this to happen, but I was still wishing and hoping. I stared at that door for 15 minutes before I finally turned to go find my plane.
~The Next Day, Tia's POV~
I finally found myself in a peaceful spot in my own home. My parents had left me to rest in my room while they were at work. I was an only child, and I was taking advantage of being left alone. I was waiting for Shawn to answer my FaceTime request at the moment. Finally, the word connecting came across the screen as he answered my call. Shawn's face appeared, and we both smiled. "Hey!" I said cheerfully, and Shawn mirrored my greeting. I blushed bright red as I noticed his lack of a shirt and sweaty, red face. "What's up?" I ask, rolling out of bed. "I was on the treadmill. What about you?" He asks, and I hear him turning the machine back on. "I'm about to go to Jack's." I tell him, grabbing my skateboard. "Who's Jack?" Shawn asks, and I giggle as I grab my skateboard. "Jack's is a restaurant, not a person." I explain, and Shawn lets out a silent 'oh.' I grab my shoes, heading to the front door after throwing my backpack over my back. I open the front door, walking out and putting my shoes on. I lock the door and walk over to the sidewalk before placing my board down and taking off. Shawn and I talked about random things as he ran and I was skating. I pulled up to the fast food hamburger joint, picking my board up. I walked in, board in one hand and phone in the other, and going up to the counter. "Tia!" My past co-worker cheered. "Liz!" I cheered back, smiling at her. "Where have you been?" She asks, coming out from around the counter to give me a hug. She and I hug, and as she pulls away she catches a glimpse of my phone. "Is he live streaming on Instagram?" Liz asks, and I laugh. "No, I'm actually on the phone with him." I tell her, and her jaw drops. "You're kidding." She says, and I hand her an earbud. "Shawn, say something." I ask him, and he says the word something. "This is Liz," I tell him, and he waves. "Hi, Liz." Shawn says in a fake British accent. I let out a small laugh, and Liz did too. She handed me back my earbud, heading towards the sink. I put my earbud back in, walking up to the register. "What can I get you today?" She asks me, and I place my usual order of four chicken fingers, a medium drink, and mashed potatoes instead of fries with honey mustard for my chicken. Liz handed me my cup, and I thanked her. I went and made myself a cup of sweet tea, and Shawn gasped and almost made me drop my cup. "Tia, listen to this." Shawn starts, and I nod as I put the lid on. "International Pop Star Shawn Mendes was seen at the airport yesterday accompanied by a mystery girl and late Carl Grimes' actor Chandler Riggs. As the mystery girl was leaving with Riggs' arm around her shoulders Mendes called her back before she entered the plane terminal. The mystery girl's name was discovered to be Tia, and after careful online research we found her full name is Tia LaFoy. Riggs was obviously not very pleased with Mendes' next action to kiss our MG before she went back home. Is Tia stirring drama in Hollywood Romance before she even debuts with the two celeb's fans, or is Riggs' just jealous of Mendes' budding relationship?" Shawn read, and by this point I had already sat down with my food. "Well, I think Chandler's just jealous." I tell him, opening my honey mustard. "Jealous of what?" I hear an annoyingly familiar voice. I turn to see Destiny Cook, and I frown. "We're talking about the TV show Friends. Any other questions?" I lied, and she glared at me. "No need to be rude." She fired back, and I rolled my eyes. "Then stay out of my business." I say, turning back around. "Is that Shawn Mendes?" She asks, and I ignore her. I sigh, carrying my tray to the front. "Can I have a bag?" I ask, and they hand me a bag. "Just a heads up, Destiny is bothering customers again." I tell Liz and Eric as I bag my food. Eric groans, heading out into the lobby. I say my goodbyes, putting the bag in my backpack. As I begin to skate to the nearby park I finally listen to Shawn. "What does Chandler have to be jealous of?" Shawn asks, and I frown. "Well, I kinda thought that after the airport..." I start, but I trail off towards the end. "We were together?" Shawn asks, and I nod as I turn red. "Do you want to be?" He asks, and I turn even redder. "I'll take that as a yes, beautiful." Shawn says, and I smile. "Tia LaFoy, Shawn Mendes' girlfriend. I like the sound of that." Shawn says, and I look up to see him smiling. "Tia, pay attention to where you're going." Shawn pleads. I laugh, looking up to see that I was nearing the end of my path. I slow down, stepping off my board before kicking it up and carrying it to a large shade tree by the river. "I do too." I tell Shawn with a smile.
