Watching my parents stand together,fighting for each other,declaring their love for each other in front of the world was a great thing to see
Relief,love and pride filled me!I was relieved cos not an hour ago I was convinced I have done a mistake
Because of my desire to see My Mama happy I had let My father think he had succeeded in use me against her
I hadn't minded when he basically used me to blackmail her into this marriage because I had wanted the same thing as he did
I wanted My Mama happy!I wanted someone who would love and support her in everything,Her equal!
She has been A mother and a father to both Aunty SuMi and I,She has been our light in a dark room!
And I just wanted someone who would be the same for her,someone my grandma had been to her before she died!
I had seen that in my Dad!The way her eyes light up when he is in the room,The way they fight without hurting each other or when one is hurt the other seem to feel the pain!
Isn't that love!?
My father is a good man and I know he loves My Mama very much ...he told me so!
As I watched them walked down the stairs
My father radiating happiness and contentment
Mama looked doubtful but determined
I met her at the of the stairs,nodded at my Dad as he left us for a moment,i took my mother's hand,"You look beautiful Mama!"She clenched my hand tighter brought it to her lips and kiss it
"And you look very handsome!" She smirked at me as we slowly walked to the dais
"M..Mama...I..I
I didn't know what to even say ..'I'm sorry I tricked you into marrying Dad but you can leave him at the alter if you want!' didn't seem like an appropriate thing to say right now
She stopped walking,held my head between her hands and said,"This is my decision! I know you and your father think you somehow tricked me into this but I assure you....I made this decision with a clear head!"
I was left speechless! How did she know?a second later I knew of course she knows what I am thinking and what I am feeling ....she always has,she is my mother after all
I pulled her into a hug clinging to her tightly, "I love you Mama!" I said a tears running down my face
"I love too Tillu!"she said hugging me just as hard,we pulled away and just smiled at each other
"Its time!" I whispered to her as we made it to the dais where my Dad was patiently standing waiting for My Mother and I
I put her hand inside his and just as I was about to pull away Dad took my hand I put it on top of my mother's and put his on top of both ours,"Together always!"he whispered to both of us,his love showing
Tears pricked my eyes as I looked at the loving eyes of my father and adoration on my mother's face,"Together always!"I whispered the promise,A promise that from now on we will be together forever as a family
We hugged our bond stronger now than ever!
I watched as they married each other looks of doubt,pride,sadness and love playing between them till they were married
I let out the breath I didn't even know I was holding,clapping with everyone as they hugged all members of the Oberoi's, now officially my family!
Before they could make it to me I heard a voice of someone I had hoped I will never hear from again
