"What do we do now, Granger?" Malfoy asked, transferring the burden of the decision to Hermione.
"I don't know." She said, which, in Draco's understanding meant 'we're screwed'.
Then suddenly, as strange as it sounded, Hannah Abbot started whispering to herself like a psycho and the ropes that bound her turned to dust. Hermione's eyes bulged.
Draco, who'd been quick to act, took Abbot's wand, which was sitting on the nearest table to the chair she was tied to, and snapped it in half.
She growled in anger as Hermione reached for their own wands.
Exhausted from performing wand-less magic, she shot a non-lethal hex their way.
"Enjoy you time." Hannah grinned, unlocked the heavily warded door and ran out, not even looking back.
"Draco, we need to go after her." She said, getting up, off the floor, and laughed. For some reason, the sentence sounded funny to her.
"Damn it." Draco said and started laughing too.
"Oh no. S-She hexed us." Hermione said in between fits of laughter.
"I'm not stupid Granger." Draco laughed.
Hermione laughed again.
Both of them were sprawled on the floor.
"I don't want to die like this, Granger! Do something." Draco doubled over in hysterical laughter.
"We can't." Hermione replied, giggling.

Five minutes later, and the hex still hadn't worn off.
"Your nose looks weird." Hermione screeched in hysterics, touching Draco's nose.
"Your hair looks worse than my Great aunt Delilah's." Draco looked like he was having a convulsion thinking about his great aunt.

Suddenly, nothing seemed funny anymore.
They groaned from the pain they were experiencing in their guts.
"I'm never going to laugh, or smile, ever again." Draco whimpered.
"She performed wand-less magic Draco." Hermione had recovered now.
"Her accomplices, if she does have any, must be powerful." Draco said.
"She does. I think. The one who lives. Remember?" Draco nods.
Her eyes suddenly widened like everything seemed to make sense.
"Maybe someone who has a personal vendetta against you. Targeting you and the person who is helping you gain a decent status in wizarding society. From what Abbot said earlier, I think she wanted Voldemort, or some dark witch or wizard back. If it is Voldemort, then maybe they're after you because you aided in his defeat. You gave Harry your wand. It would explain the missing time turner. And the real Rebekah Declan's hand that's missing. Even a polyjuiced form wouldn't be able to open that door at the ministry. We made sure of it." Hermione explained.
"The question is, why would Hannah do it?" She sighed.
"Firstly, you talk too much, too fast." He said and she glared at him. He grinned.
"Secondly, that did make a lot of sense Granger. You may be right. It does seem connected." He smiled.
"And thirdly, so much for kindness, honesty and trustworthiness." He smirked, remembering the Hufflepuff motto.
She laughed and pressed her stomach in the place where the pain was subsiding.
"Come on Granger. You need to rest for a while."
"No I don't. We need to find her." She whined.
"Another day won't kill us." Draco tried reassuring her with a fake smile, while leading her to a guest bedroom after taking off the glamour around the house.
She got into bed and fell asleep in a heartbeat.
He sighed.
"And besides, you're more fun to be with than I'd ever imagined Granger." He said to himself and smiled at her.
Draco walked out of the room, oblivious to the smile that had creeped onto Hermione's face.
