The group which comprised of Draco's and Hermione's friends, apparated to the outskirts of the forest.
"Where do you think they went from here?" Ron asked.
"I think I know." Daphne said proudly.
They reached the spot and Daphne whispered, "Occulta revelare."
The cabin came into view. They gasped while Daphne smirked.
"Alright, let's go check it out then." They piped.
They did a quick check around the house. Pansy was completely enraptured by the splendour of the house.
'Malfoys.' She rolled her eyes and snorted. But the fact that Daphne knew about the house and she didn't, bothered her. She shook the thought away.
They exited the house and Daphne concealed it again.
"Well, no more traces for us to follow. Which means, we're at a dead end." Ginny said.
"This is stupid. Maybe we should get back and continue the investigation with the Aurors." Harry said.
Ron agreed but the rest of them, especially Ginny, glared at him.
"Harry James Potter! You listen to me! Those Aurors are a bunch of Morons. We've come too bloody far to just shove all our hard work into their hands." Ginny raised a finger at him.
All at once, everyone started arguing with each other.
Blaise pulled at his hair in frustration.
"Buon Dio! Fermare!" Blaise yelled in Italian. The others looked at him cluelessly.
"Draco and Hermione were with me. They asked for my help. And I helped them get till Rebekah Declan. They know that both suspects are now dead. I didn't tell you because Saint Potter and Weasley still don't seem to trust us. We don't know if they're with the Aurors or not. I had to ask them to leave when the Aurors came pounding at my door." Blaise said, bracing himself for any slaps or punches that could come his way.
But nothing did.
He looked at up and saw them staring blankly at him.
"Ok then. Let's think about what we can do next." Ginny said, trying to keep her calm.
Theo snapped his fingers and looked at them.
"We need to go to St.Mungo's." Theo said.
"Ron and I can't. We're supposedly down with the flu." Harry said, thinking about the stupid excuse he'd given his team, about the Flu they'd acquired, apparently, from someone at St.Mungo's during one of Ron's health checks. Aurors are brave and strong and possess a good amount of brains when it comes to solving crimes, but not too much otherwise.Harry and Ron dissapparated back to the Potter's residence unnoticed while the others apparated to St.Mungo's.
Ginny checked them in at the front desk and Theo led the way to Narcissa Malfoy's ward.
He asked them to wait outside and tiptoed inside to rummage through her belongings.
Ginny stared at the hospitalised woman in sympathy. She was the reason her husband was alive.
Blaise was looking at her too. She was like a second mother to him. He knew that Narcissa wouldn't have been made aware of Draco's current problems, even though she had every right to know. He doubted the ministry officials would trouble a mentally unstable woman.
Most of Draco's visits had to be supervised, as per ministry regulations.
And besides, everybody knew how much Draco loved his mother.
Theo walked back out and closed the door behind him.
He held up a necklace with an emerald dangling from it. A snake wrapped around the stone with eyes mage of Rubies.
"They were a gift given from Narcissa to Lucius and Draco before the war. To know if they're safe. When either of them were terribly wounded or hit by a spell severely, the stone on the other necklaces would turn Crimson and they'd be transported to the closest public floo network in the area the distress signal came from. If Draco is in trouble, we'd know." Theo said.
"Great! Now all we have to do is wait."
Ginny threw her hands in the air.
"Let's get back to Harry and Ron."
They nodded and walked out of St.Mungo's and apparated back to 12, Grimmauld Place.
