➸Stefan jumps away from her, an embarrassed and guilty look on his face.
Lizzie, still leaned in, raises her eyebrows and quietly scoffs, sitting back with a smirk on her face.
"Uh, Elena, this is Lizbeth."
Lizbeth smiles sweetly over to Elena. "Please, sweetheart. Call me Lizzie." She winks while reaching her hand out for a handshake.
Elena cautiously shakes it, a friendly smile on her face. "I'm Elena. Stefan's girlfriend."
"Oh really, now," Lizzie smirks, looking over to Stefan.
Jenna, who was sitting beside Lizzie, looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "Be nice. You know she's my niece."
Stefan sighs, unknowingly halting Jenna from speaking any further. "It's complicated," he whispers, so Elena wouldn't hear.
"How do you two know each other?"
"Oh, we go way back, don't we, Stefan," Lizzie questions with her ever present smirk on her face.
Stefan smiles tightly. "Yeah. Way back."
Elena looks at her with wide eyes. "So.. are you..."
"Am I what," Lizzie questions innocently.
"Yes, she is," Stefan glares at her.
"Oh," Elena mutters. "How long have you've known each other?"
"We met in 1892," Lizzie replies with a smirk. "And we had a good time, didn't we, Stef?"
Jenna giggles softly. "Now you're just torturing her." Lizzie let's a barely noticeable smile slip through after hearing her laugh.
Stefan glares. "Not now, Lizbeth."
"What? No more nicknames," Lizzie pouts. Before Stefan could make another comment, a group of people walk up to her table.
"Well, hello," purrs an attractive male with dark hair and eyes the palest shade of blue she's ever seen.
"Oh no," Lizzie hears Jenna mutter in distaste. Liz decides to have a little fun.
She smirks back at him, leaning forward with a flirtatious look. "Hello, handsome," she drawls.
"My names Damon." The man reaches a hand out. Lizzie puts her hand in his, him dragging her hand to his lips.
"Lizbeth. Everyone calls me Lizzie, but you can call me whenever you want." They smirk at each other.
"You make me wanna vomit." Lizzie has to keep a laugh from escaping when Jenna speaks up.
A voice cuts through their perpetual flirting. "Wait, you look familiar." Everyone in the group turns their heads towards a pretty blonde girl. "Sorry, my name's Caroline." They shake hands. "Have I seen you before?"
"No, sweetheart, I don't think we've met."
"Are you sure? Because you seem so familiar. Like I know you."
"Oh, really," Lizzie questions, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes," the girl, Caroline, mutters. It's quiet for a second before she perks up.
"When did you say you met Stefan?"
"1892."
Caroline snaps her fingers. "That's it! That's how I know you!" Everyone looks at her in confusion. "Um, hello? Are you guys dumb?" Silence. "She goes by Lizzie, she was born in the 1800's...." No ones seems to catch on. Lizzie looks on in amusement. "Ugh, you guys are useless! Hello?! Lizzie Borden! The girl who killed her parents? Ya know, the one who has a song about her? I did a project on her in history last year." Everyone in the groups face changes from confusion, to understanding, to horror.
"Good luck," Jenna muses.
Lizzie chuckles, giving a few tiny claps with a childlike smile on her face. "Wow. You are really smart. I didn't expect anyone to catch on, honestly. We should hang out some time. I'd love to be around you," she winks.
Jenna scoffs in false anger. "What? Am I not good enough anymore?"
Bonnie looks at her in horror. "You killed your parents."
Lizzie gives a thoughtful look. "Well, not exactly."
"What?"
A crash is heard behind them. "A story for another time, I suppose."
Before anyone could react, Lizzie is up and already stalking towards the front door, it slamming closed behind her.
