Tara and Gar rolled the conspiracy board into the main room together. Y the pug was asleep on the couch and Vicky and X were standing by the kitchen counter laughing. "Hey guys!" said Vicky, looking up from her sandwich making, she turned back to Red X, who was putting two pieces of bread together with tuna on top.
"Like that?" he asked holding it up for her to see.
Vicky shook he head sadly, "Nope, that's tuna toast." She had never thought that teaching someone to make a tuna sandwich would be so difficult. But here she was with a boy who'd never even eaten a sandwich before, let alone made one. It was a cruel injustice to the world and she had to fix it, "Look," she said, taking his hand in hers and dipping the butter knife in the mayo, "You spread the mayo on the toast," she picked up a piece and together they swiped the knife across, "Then the tuna," they took a large spoonful and dumped it on, placing another piece of toast on the top, "See?" she stepped back without letting go of his hand.
"Thanks," he said quietly, squeezing her hand before letting go to eat his culinary masterpiece.
"So, what do ya think?" she asked, looking up at him while chomping down on her own sandwich.
"Woah," his eyes widened, and he placed the sandwich on the counter, stepping back to stare at it, "Woah," he repeated, tentatively reaching out to take another bite. He looked up at Tara and Garfield who were setting up the conspiracy boards, "You guys have to try this," he said urgently.
"Dude!" Gar crossed his arms, "That was a living breathing fish once. I'm not gonna eat it."
He turned to Tara who shrugged, "Vicky makes those way too often," she said.
"Hey!" Vicky protested.
Red X shrugged, "Your loss," he said biting down and walking over to the couch. Vicky finished her sandwich and walked after him, scooping the pug up as she went and sitting him in her lap
"OK Gar," Tara plopped down next to them," Show 'em watch ya got."
"Ok," Gar took a deep breath and stood in front of them, "What I'm about to show you guys is CONFIDENTIAL," he bit his lip, "But," he looked into Tara's eyes, "I'm trusting you."
Everyone nodded, and Vicky squeezed X's hand reassuringly. He wasn't entirely sure why they were trusting him, after all, he had proven himself to be completely untrustworthy, but it felt good to have friends, "Ok what is it?" he leaned forward curiously.
Beast Boy stepped sighed and stepped aside, revealing the first picture.
"It's Robin," Vicky shrugged, "Big deal."
Gar took a deep breath, connecting the pointer with the board, "Ok so there's this imp from another dimension," he said, switching to a photo of Larry, "He's basically another version of Robin, we call him Larry, but when he first showed up, he said his name was Nosyarg Drahcir. I didn't figure it out till a while later, but Nosyarg Drahcir backwards spells—" Gar trailed off.
"Richard Grayson," Vicky's eyes widened as she whispered the name, "but..." she traced a finger over the uncovered part of X's face till she reached the mask and gave it a small tug, but he pulled away.
He turned to Garfield, "A clone?" he said quietly
Gar nodded gravely and X looked down, "Slade," he growled, "It was him, wasn't it?" Gar's eyes widened, he'd heard almost the same words before from another person and they scared him.
"I—" he stammered, "I don't know," he lied, he was almost certain.
Red X clenched his fist, "Slade did this," he said quietly, he looked down at his fists, "This is his fault," he pulled his mask over the lower half of his face and walked away.
