Flashing lights lit up the night sky, as I talked with some policemen. I still was kind of in shock, not knowing what will happen.
After my mental breakdown, I had called the police, alerting them of the threat. I knew that I was going to have to lie to the police force, because it had to deal with Werewolves. However, I didn't know how they knew that I was the Alpha's true mate.
The two officers came to where I was sitting on the couch, taking deep breaths, calming my frayed nerves.
"Mrs. Wallace?" the first male asked, looking at me.
"Just Ms. Wallace, but call me Jess, please," I replied looking at them. I knew that I seemed calm, but I was really nervous and jittery.
"So you're not married, yet?" the first male asked, glancing down the ring on my finger. He glanced back up at me, raising an eyebrow.
I shook my head no. "He's in the Middle East dealing with problems over there," I replied. "I live here by myself."
"So no protection whatsoever?"
I shook my head, no. "I have weapons and can use them. Also, I do fight and train at the local karate place. And, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I don't think I have caught your names. If I had, then it might've went in one ear and out the other."
The second male snorted a little under his breath, before clearing his throat. "I'm Officer William Frank. And that is Deputy Tom Gates," he said, gesturing to himself and his partner.
I nodded my head in greeting, staying silent. I didn't really need to say my name, since they all ready knew it.
Officer Frank cleared his throat. "Now, do you know who had killed the wolf and wants to kill you?" he asked, not beating around the bush.
I shook my head no. "I don't know why they would kill a wolf and have that saying there. It's not... normal. I'm just a teacher and then I'm volunteering at a hospital close by."
"Do you have any known or not known enemies?" Deputy Gates asked.
I shook my head, no. "Not that I know of," I replied. I didn't want to go into details about the incident Saturday, or that I'm thinking that the rogues knew about me. I mean, who would tell them? And why would they go after me? I wasn't even apart of that pack.
Officer Frank had this weird look on his face, before he looked at his partner. "Do you think you can check on other people to see if they had heard anything?" he asked. "I would like to talk to her alone."
Officer Gates frowned a little but nodded, anyways. "Of course," he replied. He nodded his head towards me, before making his leave.
I bit my lip and start to fiddle with my hands as Officer Frank studied me. I guess he might be a Werewolf. I mean, he looked like one, like a godly person, if you know what I mean.
His dark green eyes, flickered a little to his wolf's eyes, before going back to his human form. His chiseled jaw, made it look like it could intimidate anyone, along with his eyes. He had a buzz cut, making his brown hair, that almost looked black, stick up a little.
"Now, I want to know how you know about Werewolves," he said. "Don't lie to me, or else I'll send David here to inaugurate you, himself."
I hid an eyeroll, leaning back into my seat, annoyed. "That won't be necessary," I replied, bitterly. "It'll just make things worse between me and him."
That confused him a little, and he cocked his head. "What do you mean?" he asked.
I sighed a little and closed my eyes. "For your information, there are things that you don't know about me and David. He- he hasn't told anyone about it." I bit my lip, feeling as if the world was falling apart. "Now that the rogues know, I don't know what he'll do."
I knew that I'm repeating myself about my story, and I just hated it. However, there were those that need to know. The truth hurts, sometimes, but the truth always has a way of coming out in the end.
"Know what?" Officer Frank asked, confused.
I sighed again, with a little huff at the end. "I've known about Werewolves and such all my life," I began. "I am a descendant from Hunter Dennis Wallace, whom had started the group that only attacks the rogues and supernatural beings that harm humans." He growled softly, making me glare at him. "My parents died when I was eight years old, leaving me with my grandparents. After my grandparents died, I lived in the Lightning Bolt Pack. When I was 15, I started college at Kansas State University." I paused and took a deep breath. "One day, I was walking with my friends, and your Alpha came over to me, wanting to talk. We walked off alone, with his Beta and Gamma following us. He sat me down by a tree and then tried to explain to me about mates and stuff, even though, I've already known. He- he uh... rejected me, because I looked ugly, and he didn't want to baby me." I snorted softly and tucked my head close to my chest. "I spent 5 years of my life drinking." I shook my head and smirked. "After that 5th year, I sobered up and started working on myself, not caring about him or anyone else. I met my fiancé at a local McDonalds, and we started dating. He went off to the Middle East, but he had first proposed to me. I've been on my own ever since, after he had been deported." I opened my eyes and looked at him. "23 years later, David wants me back. However, he all ready lost me to another man."
Officer Frank blinked a little, processing the wave of information that he had received. There was a wave emotion crossing through his eyes, as he looked at me. Hurt, betrayal, anger, and confusion were amongst them. "So... you're supposed to be our true Luna?" he stated, even though it sounded like a question.
I nodded my head. "Yes, I'm supposed to be the true Luna, but he chose some damn whore as his mate." I sighed a little and placed my head on my knees. "He could've had any Werewolf female as his mate, but he chose some damn whore, who can't keep her junk to herself."
Officer Frank bit back a laugh and nodded his head. "Now, do you know who had done it?" he asked.
I looked at him as if he was stupid. "Couldn't you smell them?" I asked, earning a low warning growl from him. "I don't have the senses of a wolf or a dog, but I do know that they were rogues. How they know that I'm the supposed to be Luna is far fetched from me. And don't growl at me." I glared playfully at him.
Officer Frank held up his hands, smiling a little. He didn't say anything but nodded. "What will you do after David apologizes to you? Will you dump your fiancé and go back to him?"
I sighed and shrugged my shoulder, feeling slightly down and tired. "I don't know," I replied honestly. "I mean he did hurt me really bad and... I'm still the same person, as I was back then."
"But... you're our Luna. You have duties that-"
"That he didn't want me do in the first place," I hissed angrily. "It is his fault, not mine. I want him to feel the pain that he had caused me."
Officer Frank nodded his head, before clearing his throat. "I understand." With that he stood, as Deputy Gates walked over to us. He glanced at him and nodded, before he looked back at me. "We'll be in touch."
I stood up and nodded, also. "Of course," I said and with that, they left, leaving me in the dark and maybe a little spooky place, alone.
