Jack Harkness x The Doctor

chapter 2 adventure

"hello" Martha asks quizzically into the phone.

We wait for a few seconds as she talks on the phone. She takes a few breaths. Then she covers her mouth and gasps. Tears start falling down her cheeks.

She ends the call. Her hand is still covering her mouth as she cries. She sits down and cries. The doctor and I are at her side imediately. We comfort her as she sobs. When she has calmed down I motion to doctor to talk. Him still being oblivious just gives me a confused look. I sigh and ask "Martha what- whats wrong if your comfortable telling us"

She whimpers a little not able to speak. Then very softly she says "my sis was hit by a car and might not make it." We stand there staring at her unable to move or speak. "Can-can you take me h-home?" She studders at the doctor. "Of course" he says assureingly. He goes around the TARDIS console a couple of times hitting random buttons. I stay with Martha and comfort her.

We arrive at the hospital and the doctor asks "would you like us to come in with you?" She shakes her head. "No I don't think that would be good. I think I should stay for a while. This... This has really put everything in perspective. I don't spend as much time with my family as I should and I want to change that." She pauses a moment "So I guess this is good bye doctor." She hugs us and leaves.

The doctor is sad for awhile but I stay with him. He is sad that Martha just left but is still his bubbly happy self.

After about a week Martha calls to inform us about whats going on. She says that her sister will be fine but she is still going to stay with her family.

This cheers the doctor up a little, seeming as Martha is happy and no one is going to die.

We spend a little while not doing much and just hanging around the TARDIS.

One day, as I'm reading in the library, the doctor comes up to me. "Jack?" He says. "Yes doc?" I replied. "Would you- would you like to go somewhere with me?" He ask holding his hands behind his back and slightly rocking back and forth on his feet. I smile broadly closing my book and standing up. "I thought you'd never ask!" I exclaim my eyes beaming.

We run to the controls. "So!" He claps his hands "where, or when I should say, would you like to go?" His grin broadening. "Somewhere romantic and exciting and beautiful and.... Oh! Just somewhere! Somewhere amazing!" I exclaim. The doctor smiles and salutes "right away sir!" We laugh and giggle. Oh this is amazing! I finally get to be one of the doctor's companions.

We land and I become very giddy. What's going to happen? That's the thrill of it. He could have taken me anywhere! Anywhen! I chuckle at myself. I walk to the doors and open them, the doctor right behind me. I step out and see a beautiful world. We are right by an ocean like thing but the water is just floating. It moves in all directions but stays as a mass. There seems to be streams that lead out of it, some going down lower and some sailing higher.

I look around more to see a great big forest, with tall beautiful trees. The trees are beautiful colored with various shades of red and orange. Their leave are massive. I stare in awe at it all. "Wow..." I say "just... Wow." He smiles "you haven't even seen the best part." He says gently and grabs my hand walking me to the left a little. I look and it seems to be a cliff. He leads me right to the edge. For the most part all you can see is clouds but here and there far off are a whole bunch of floating islands. One of the rivers flows down into a waterfall that flows off into one of the other floating islands.

"This is the planet Supernatet which is Latin for float. There are many beautiful and exciting things about this planet. Why don't we go check it out." The doctor says.
