You can't have him

chapter 5

Menju kissed Gabe and pulled him closer. He wanted to be with his friend, and he didn't care that the both of them were now married. Gabe moved to try to pull off Menju's shirt when Maverick came flying through the door.

"Get the hell away from the prince, and leave him alone Gabe!" Maverick cried out.

Gabe moved slightly away from Menju and smiled. "So prince Kapa sent his fuck boy to go rescue his husband from me. I'm surprised you are actually able to pull yourself out of his ass, or is it the other way around?"

"Just shut up and leave the prince alone Gabe." Maverick said a little less forcefully than before.

"I would love to, but you see my friend Menju has already said that he wants my company, and I'm afraid that you're not one of the people I take orders from. The only ones that can order me around here are the king, or one of the princes."

"Well then maybe you'll listen to me when I order you to get the hell out of my room, and leave my husband alone!" Prince Kapa said as he entered the room.

Gabe frowned a little, but he quickly recovered. "Of course my prince. Menju it's been fun talking to you again, and if you ever need anything you know where to find me. I'm up for anything my friend."

"He doesn't need you for anything. He has me." The prince said. Gabe just laughed as he walked out of the room. Prince Kapa turned to Maverick then. "You are to stay here and keep watch of the prince. You, and not anyone else! And you are to keep everyone out except for me! I'm tired of having to be called away to either find my husband, or pull him away from his damn former lover!"

"Yes my prince." Maverick said. Prince Kapa stormed out of the room leaving Maverick behind with Menju.

Maverick sullenly walked to the door, but stopped when Menju called out his name. He turned his head back around and asked, "what do you need my prince?"

"Are you and my husband really lovers?" Menju asked. He wasn't sure he really wanted to know the answer though, but he was curious as to if Gabe was just trying to lie to upset him or not. The look on Maverick's face though told him much more than his answer did.

"He won't do anything with anyone other than you prince. He'll be faithful to you for as long as you're married." Maverick replied.

He turned back to the door again, but Menju called out one more time. "You still love him don't you Maverick? I can see it in the way you look at him."

Maverick didn't even turn around this time to reply. "I'm going to be right outside the door, so if you need anything just call for me."

Menju didn't stop him with anymore questions, even though he had more questions he wanted answered. Why had the prince even chosen to marry him, why did he feel so bad when he upset the prince, but most of all he wondered why he didn't push Gabe off of him when he forced himself on him. He didn't really want to kiss Gabe then, but Gabe wouldn't stop. Menju didn't even try to tell Maverick or the prince the truth, because he knew they wouldn't believe him anyway. Menju just laid back on the bed and wished that things were better.

Kapa returned later on that night still in a sour mood. "Is he still in there?" He asked Maverick.

"Yes boss."

"Ok my friend. I'll see you tomorrow, and you can watch him again."

"Don't you think you're going a little overboard locking him up like this?"

"What other choice do I have?" Kapa asked him.

"You could always let Gabe have him." Maverick put his arms around the prince and pulled him close. "You could be with me again."

Kapa pulled his friends hands off him. "I think it's time you retire for the night my friend. I'll see you in the morning." When Kapa went into the room and saw his husband lying there on the bed, his mood lifted. The man was so handsome that the prince decided he would do anything he had to, to keep him as his husband. Kapa stripped off his clothes, and laid down next to his husband.

The next couple of days Maverick watched over Menju while Kapa carried about his business as usual. Maverick tried to avoid taking to Menju at first, but the prince would get bored easily and continually came out of the room to join him. Menju told Maverick all about his family, and Maverick told him everything the prince would need to know about life in the palace.

They were still talking there when prince Kapa got there that night. "My two favorite men seem to be getting along quite well now. Maybe locking you in your room has done some good." The prince said.

"Are you going to keep me locked up forever?" Menju asked while holding out his hand for the prince to help him up.

Prince Kapa pulled his husband up, and he stood extremely close to him. "It seems my father has right now indefinitely extended Gabe's visit here, but as long as you promise you won't go looking for him I won't keep you locked up anymore." The prince said.

"I never went looking for him before, he just seemed to find me." Menju replied.

"Maybe you should try harder to avoid him."

Menju moved farther away from the prince then. "Oh so you get to have your former lover following you everywhere you go, but I have to avoid mine like the plague. Gabe is still one of my best friends, and I don't like you telling me who I can talk to and who I can't." Menju snapped.

"Maverick is my guard. He's obligated to be around me."

"Yeah that makes it so much fucking better!" Menju yelled, and he walked into the room slamming the door behind him.

"God I swear I'm going to wring that fucking man's neck. I was trying to be nice to him. You saw me trying to be nice to him." Kapa said while holding his hand out to help up Maverick as well.

"He does have a point though you know boss." Maverick replied. The prince glared at him and he quickly said, "let me explain. I've been with you for quite some time. We've been friends and lovers for several years. Same with him and Gabe. Now you're trying to say that just cause I'm of use to you I can stick around, but he can't have his closest friend."

"There's more of a difference than just use. I actually ignore your attempts to come onto me, but he doesn't with Gabe. Am I supposed to just let him go running back to Gabe and be happy about losing him?"

"No my friend. You're supposed to trust your husband to choose you over him. I've been talking to him quite a bit lately. I think you're being just a little hard on him. I'll see you in the morning boss. You better have apologized to him by then." Maverick said. He gave the prince a quick hug then headed off.

When Kapa walked into the room it looked as if Menju was already asleep, so he just got undressed and climbed into bed next to him.

"You told me it would be easy for you to get my son's husband in bed with you, but so far you have failed to do so!" The king snapped.

"He's been a bit stubborn lately, but your son hasn't made it easy on me either." Gabe replied.

"I have the preacher coming back in two days, and we have yet to find a reason to declare the marriage as a failure. The deal with my son was if he couldn't make a marriage work with a person from the family I chose, then he would not ever gain the throne. My son would be an incompetent king, and he must not get the chance to become one."

"Don't worry. I know my friend. He'll be happy to leave him, as long as your son let's me talk to him again."

"You have two days to get it done Gabe." The king said, then he dismissed him.
