chapter 12

When they got to his sister's place she came running outside. "Brother, I'm so glad to see you here! I've missed you like crazy." She said. As soon as he got down from the horse she gave him a huge hug.

"Hey sis. How's married life going?" Kapa asked.

"It's wonderful. I really enjoy being a queen. Maverick I see you're still hanging around my brother." She said giving him a quick hug as well.

"Only death would drag me away from him, Reiza. Of course I'm only his guard now, so I'm looking for a new lover if you know of a good one." He replied.

"I may actually know of the perfect guy for you. I can invite him over tomorrow. You'll probably get along great with him."

"Perfect. Can't wait."

"Which one's your husband brother?" Reiza asked while looking between Menju and Arjic.

Kapa went up to Menju and kissed him. He put his arms around Kapa and pulled him a bit closer. When Kapa ended he turned to his. "Reiza this is Menju. Menju this is my sister Reiza."

"It's nice to meet you Menju. I hope you're keeping my brother happy."

"Trying to."

"Nice to see you again Darla, and Bessie I see you're still around. Who's the new guy though?"

Maverick put his arm around him. "This big boy is Arjic. He's Menju's body guard."

"Nice to meet you Arjic. Hopefully you'll enjoy your time here. Now brother if you don't mind, please explain to me what all happened. I've not heard a damn thing from father since I got married, and now he's had men come and search my husband's kingdom for you saying you're a traitor. My husband is up in arms because of the inconvenience of it all, and his men have not been kind to our people."

"Dad's men have been here already for us? Has dad come too or just his men?"

"So far just his lackeys. I'm sure the old ass will come in full force in time though. You know how stubborn he is, and I don't think he'll hesitate to burn down every house along the way until he finds you."

"Shit that's what I was afraid of. I'm sorry for bringing this trouble onto you sis, but I had no where else to go."

"Don't worry brother, I've got your back. I won't let him, or anyone else get to you without a fight.  You're the only real family I had growing up, and you Maverick were like the sex crazed brother-in-law I never knew I wanted." Reiza said.

"Awe thanks Reiza. And in case you're wondering I'm still just as sex crazed as ever." Maverick joked.

"Well then I hope my friend can keep up with you." The two of them laughed, and Arjic grabbed the reins of the nearest horse and started walking away.

"Big boy where are you going?" Maverick called out to him.

"I'm taking the horse to the stables." He called back without looking behind him.

"The stables are the other way! Hey Arjic you're going the wrong way. Arjic!" Reiza turned to her brother then and said, "he's not taking the horse to the stable is he."

Kapa shook his head. "No I'll go get him real quick."

"I'll get him. I'm probably the least welcome of you all around here anyway, and that way you can tell your sister what's going on." Bessie said, and she took off running after Arjic. "Wait up big boy. You've got longer legs than I do." She called.

Arjic stopped and looked back at her. "What do you want Bessie?" He asked her.

"I wanted to talk. You know this whole thing going on between you and Maverick is going to wind up driving everyone nuts." She said.
