ELSA
With a sigh, I close my locker, glancing at my friend. "I don't think that will work," I say to her, as she lowers her phone. "The School's lighting is awful,"
Rapunzel sighed shoving her phone in her jean jacket pocket. Rapunzel Corona is honestly the only friend I have on Campus... Well, other than my Stupid Twin, Hiccup. Even though she's my only friend, she's the sweetest girl ever. She's extremely kind, energetic, adventurous and artistic. Rapunzel is slender, with fair skin light freckles and rosy cheeks. She has green eyes and last year, she had dyed golden blonde hair, but as of now, she wears her hair naturally brown, cut into a pixie style.
"Ugh, whatever!" She sighed looking around. "So, what did your mother say about me sleeping over?" She asked.
I froze as she asked that question. I didn't ask Mom. I didn't ask anybody. My parents don't like non-superheroes in the house. mainly because of Anna, who is irresponsible with her powers. And when she does that, she purposely does it to aggravate Hiccup, and he taunts her, by either leaving her stuck in the air with his Telekinesis or taunting her with something entirely different.
Because of that, they don't allow people without powers in our house.
"Ooh, I totally forgot!" I say to her, thinking of an excuse. Looking around, I spot my brother leaning against his locker reading a book. "But it might be better if I stay at your house tonight!" I start. "Hiccup has a really important Doctor's Appointment tonight for his treatment... Cause, you know... He's sick, and I have to watch Anna!"
"Oh," Rapunzel stated.
Technically, I'm not lying to her. Well, I mean, I am! But not entirely telling the truth. I'm making up things to keep her off my tail. Hiccup has no appointment today! But he is sick. Our entire lives, Hiccup has to get weekly check-ups, to ensure his powers are getting out of whack. When we were 10, in our hometown, we got into an accident and Hiccup used his Telekinesis to protect me, but it critically injured him. Because he used his powers to save me, it cost him a limb and a semi-normal childhood.
With Hiccup's powers, he has one thing Anna and I don't have. While Anna has great stamina, a heart that beats rapidly and I have no feeling for any climate change whatsoever, Hiccup has an extra brain lobe that allows his Telekinesis. With the accident we had, that was damaged. So, Mom and Dad have him checked nearly daily, to make sure he is still in control of his powers.
As far as the school is concerned, and all our friends, Hiccup is their definition of a difficult child. Which is true. He is bothered by sudden or loud noises and things in our house have to be a certain way or he gets mad. Sadly, thanks to the accident, Hiccup is hard of hearing, partially blind and paralyzed.
It made me so mad when I came out of the accident fine! I was bedridden for three months and had a lot of physical issues, struggle with hand-eye coordination and most physical things. Like using my powers. One time, after the accident I couldn't control my arms, from the pain I accidentally froze HIccup's and Anna's hands together
"So, could I stay at your house?" I ask her.
"I mean, you can! You're always welcome at my house, you know that! But, Elsa... My parents are concerned about why I'm never at your house! They think your family is hiding something!" She explained.
"Hiding something?" I ask suddenly forcing a laugh. "What could we possibly be hiding?!" I ask. "We're a normal family!"
She looked at me, almost shocked at my sudden outburst. "... Of course, you are! I didn't say you weren't! I'm just saying, it's weird I've never been to your house before! Ever! I'd love to meet your family!"
"Mm, but you already know my family!" I say.
"No, I know your twin brother! He's not your only family! Henry doesn't count!" She stated.
That's one secret out! Hiccup was given the name Hiccup. His birth name is Henry and mine is Elisabeth, but Mom and Dad use our nicknames. Hiccup was for a family joke, however.
Speaking of which -- "Who's not your only family?" I heard my brother ask me, as he walked up to us.
"Oh, hey Hiccup!" Rapunzel chimed in.
"It doesn't matter, Hiccup!" I say to him. "Look, Punzie! I will ask when I get home, just for you!" I then turn to Rapunzel, trying to make her happy.
"Really!?" She asked. "I'd like that! You're the best Elsa!" She squeezed me tightly before turning to Hiccup. "Good luck with your appointment tonight, Hiccup!" She then said to him.
"What appointment?" Hiccup asked absentmindedly, looking up from his phone.
"Elsa said you--"
"You're doctor's appointment that you have tonight at 5:25 tonight!" I cut Rapunzel off, shaking Hiccup, to force him on my plan. He stared at me momentarily, blinking in the confusion. I watched him glance at Rapunzel before rolling his eyes.
Henry Haddock isn't one for playing along. If I try to lie in front of him and try to get him to play along with me so I don't get caught, he tends to freeze up or refuse to acknowledge me.
"Doesn't matter," Rapunzel smiled turning on her heel. "I'll hopefully see you two tonight!" She added leaving us alone.
With a heavy sigh, I open my locker getting a suspicious look from my twin. "What?" I ask him from the other side of my locker.
"What are you asking Mom and Dad tonight, Els?" Hiccup asked me, folding his arms over his chest.
Biting my bottom lip, I refuse to look at him. "I don't know what you are talking about!" I say to him, turning to my locker. From the corner of my eye, I saw him roll his eyes, holding out two fingers, suddenly using his Telekinesis to slam my locker in front of me. "Hey!" I snap, turning to him.
"You're going to ask Mom and Dad if Rapunzel can sleep over tonight, aren't you?" He asked me madly.
"Maybe! No! Not at all!" I defend myself. He just stared at me madly, with narrowed eyes. "... Okay, fine! I'm asking if she can sleep over!"
"Elsa!" Hiccup started with a hushed tone. "You know the rules! No non-Superheroes in the house!" He added.
"I know but --"
"No buts! Mom and Dad won't allow it! You know that!" He finished.
I huffed out a sigh before looking him up and down. "What if you asked?" I ask him.
"What?" He asked as I opened my locker again after he slammed it. "Why on earth do you think Mom and Dad will listen to me?!"
"You're the responsible one!" I say to him.
"I'm the crippled one! I'm the least likely one they'd listen to!" He responded.
"No, No! That'll make them listen to you more!" I say to him.
Which again, unfortunately true. Not that it's Hiccup's fault. Since the accident, Anna and I have been Glass Children, which means, our parents pay way more attention to Hiccup without even meaning it.
Hiccup narrowed his eyes, flicking his wrist, telekinetically making me hit myself in the face. "Alright, I deserved that..." I respond to his actions calmly.
"Oooh, you deserve so much more than that!" He said to me with a smirk. "But we're in public," He added putting his book in his bag. "And I'm not really in the mood to be exposed right now!"
Hiccup just looked at me after and I blew my light brown bangs away from my eyes. "Alright, fine! I'll ask myself,"
"Oh," Hiccup turned around with another smirk. "I didn't say I wasn't going to do it! Do you want your stupid friend over? I'm sure Hiccup Haddock can think of a few tricks up his sleeve!" He said to me.
"Suspending Mom and Dad in the air for hours on end doesn't count, Hiccup," I say to him. "And anything telekinesis-related doesn't count!"
"I'm sure I have one idea to make Mom and Dad let us have friends over!" Hiccup corrected himself, turning around and walking away. I just smile once again as he leaves me alone.
If anyone can convince Mom and Dad, it's their only son. My genius twin.
