I slowly begin to open my eyes only to come to the realization that I cannot see anything. I blink a few times to be sure my eyes are in fact open, but still, all I see is darkness. Getting up off the floor I found myself lying on I then start to walk around the room hesitantly putting one foot in front of the other with my hands out trying to feel for objects or possibly a wall. Soon enough I find one when my head collides with something hard and smooth, presumably a wall. It causes me to fall back a few steps, but I manage to get my balance back and steady myself again. Carefully extending my hands once again feeling for the wall. When my hand makes contact with it I take a few faltering steps sideward along the wall and soon reach a corner. I keep following the wall all the way around and determine I am in a simple square room with no furniture or other objects of such. I did, however, feel what seemed to be a door, but I discovered it could not be opened from the inside when I banged loudly on it a couple of times and failed to find a handle either.
Suddenly what is seemingly out of nowhere an agonizing pain wrenches my entire body causing me to let out a loud groan lean against the wall for support only to sink to the floor from the severe pain. Falling over sideways on the ground and clutching my stomach I find myself clenching my jaw in a fragile attempt not to scream from the intense pain.
It feels as though something running down my spine from the inside which leaves a very unsettling and disturbing sensation.
The tormenting pain continues to flood through my body. Abruptly my body starts involuntarily going into a spasm causing my frame to thrash and kick against the floor and occasionally the wall I am lying beside.
Not that there was but if there had of been anything going on around me I would be completely oblivious to it, merely focusing on the only thing possible, that thing being pain.
After a lot of thrashing and a whole lot of pain, my body finally and abruptly stops bashing around the place as my body goes completely limp regardless of my attempt to move in some way. It is a completely strange and bizarre feeling not to have your body obey you and to do something else. Directly when the thrashing stops the painful sensation wracking my body instantly comes to a halt. That event causes my body to be flooded with an abundance of relief and taking a big breath I was not previously aware I was even holding. I take various deep breaths in an attempt to recover from what just happened, but the short respite does not last long when I feel something begin to form on my lower bicep on my right arm and work its way in both directions all around my arm. It does not feel particularly sore just very strange and unlike anything, I have ever felt although if it was even a little painful I would more than likely not notice given the amount of pain I was just to try and endure for I do not know how long.
Right now I am having an overwhelming urge to touch my arm and try and feel what is happening to it since I cannot see anything, but I am too relieved the pain has stopped and I dare not risk it returning again for any length of time, so I just lay there flat on my back trying to catch my breath and recover from what just took place while trying to ignore what is happening to my arm.
From what I can tell it is a few minutes that pass while I just lie there in the same position breathing heavily. How did the night ever get like this? Well, honestly I do not know if it is day or night anymore, but I remember trying to sleep in my cell as usual when the guards came into my cell. I remember a few shouts and murmurs and other unidentifiable sounds. They most probably drugged me since everything just went dark at that point and I woke up here. Usually to say I am confused is normally an understatement, but not this time because if what is happening to me is what I think it is I am being mutated. I already know it is my turn to get mutated so it would only make sense, but I do not know I did not really expect it to be like this. What I did not know what to expect apart from painful, and it most certainly was painful, but I cannot explain this strange and unknown sensation working its way up and down my arm. I reached the end of my hand and up to my shoulder, after that whatever it was started to die off when part of it reached my jawline.
I slowly begin to sit up in a cross-legged position and after waiting a few seconds that feel like an eternity when suddenly the room is filled with a blinding light. I lift my arm to cover my eyes but see something I was not expecting. Blinking a few times to let my eyes adjust and also make sure I am not hallucinating. My arm is now completely covered in green...scales! They seem to be a near seaweed shade of green, but I am more concerned about how is this even possible.
I have no idea what kind of animal I have been partly mutated into, but these are definitely scales! Apparently there are different degrees of mutation, but never a full animal mutation so hopefully, I will not be growing any more scales to replace my skin. I trace up my newly scaled arm feeling it cover my entire arm and almost ending at the shoulder, but some scales lingering onwards to the side of part of my jawline.
I then hear the sound of footsteps approaching before the door loudly clicks and five strong-looking men walk in. Each of which wearing tactical black body armour covering their bodies. I stand up and shuffle to the other side of the room in unbelievable speed I did not know I had. They start walking towards me which leads me to notice before noticing all are armed with stun gun batons in their hands.
My eyes dart around the room as I try to compose a plan, but there is no time as they get closer. Two of them come up close to me and both try to hit me with their stun gun batons so I quickly swerve to the side and run behind them. Before they turn around I grab both their helmets and bang their heads together, but when they collapse to the ground with blood pools beginning to form around them I realize I put much for force into it than I meant to.
Before I have time to do anything else I feel shock travel throughout my body originating from my back area, in reaction I swiftly turn around and hit another two guards over the head with my scaled arm.
Five men had entered the room so I look over for the remaining man only to hear the door click closed and footsteps running in the opposite direction of the room I am in. It is then it hits me like a pile of bricks. I look down at the four guards and see them all lying limp on the ground with blood encompassing them.
I...I...had just killed them...
