"Axel. Axel! Get up you're going to be late!"
I cracked open a tired eye and glanced around the room when my eyes landed on a blonde woman with dishevelled hair standing in the door looking at me expectantly.
"Did you not hear me? You're going to be late, get up! Now I made you breakfast, not that you'll have time to eat it now so you'll have to grab something quick on your way out or else you will miss the bus." With that, she turns on her heel out of the room and closes the door behind her rather loudly leaving me in a very confused state. What happened to the mutants, my mutation? What is happening?
I slid, well more like fall out of bed and start lazily getting changed, it is almost like I cannot control what I am doing. Not like what had just happened in that....room, and the voice, but more as though I was reliving a memory, or whatever this is. I then begin to think what if this is a real memory....or perhaps all that other stuff was just a dream and this is real.
Within a few minutes, I have completed getting dressed whilst stumbling around a sheer mess of a room to find myself downstairs in a kitchen with the woman from before, presumably my mother.
"Now don't forget your phone, and oh yes I almost forgot, try not to get into any fights, okay? You don't want to get transferred again!"
A roll my eyes slightly before answering her back, "Okay Mom I get the picture. Seriously..." I then proceed to swing my backpack over one of my shoulders and head towards the door and get halfway through it when I hear her shout back behind me, "And stay safe!"
I let out a sigh and turn back to the woman giving her an almost sarcastic look, "Stop worrying Mom, I'll be fine."
All of a sudden everything goes black for a moment and my entire surroundings change to something completely different. I am walking down a school corridor packed with people bustling their ways around when my eyes land on an attractive looking black-haired girl closing her locker with a sad or perhaps angry look on her face, maybe both, but I apparently did not notice that as I walk over to her and lean on one of the other lockers with a smirk.
"Hey, Jess what's up?" Almost instantly after that sentence leaves my mouth she turns to me and only then do I see the tears pricking her eyes and she says something...unexpected. Since none of this is making any sense to me or what I am doing for that matter everything is pretty unexpected I suppose.
"We are over Axel." As she finished my name her voice breaks before continuing to speak she whips a few stray tears on her cheeks, "How could you do that to me?!"
I give the girl a confused and concerned look, "Wh-what are you talking about? Is something wrong?"
"Oh I see how it is, so you're just going to act like you don't have ANY IDEA what I'm talking about then?!"
At this I just begin stuttering around in confusion before finally getting something out, "Jess, I don't even know what you're talking about, you know I would never do anything to hurt you."
When the words first leave my mouth the girl just stares at me blankly for a few moments that feel a lot longer than they actually are before rolling her eyes and giving me an exasperated look, "Doesn't seem like that, does it? Just leave me alone Axel, don't talk to me again."
I give the female before me a look of disbelief, "Jess seriously can't we just talk about this?"
"No, I'm done talking now don't speak to me." She says and shoves past me not looking back as I stare blankly at the floor feeling hurt and very very confused.
The next thing I know the scene has changed again to what I assume is later that day when I find myself walking down a sidewalk near a busy road when a rough pair of hands seemingly come out of nowhere and grab the side of my torso quickly yanking me into a nearby alley.
I struggle against the attacker only to find the attacker is an incredibly huge, strong, man. Somehow I manage to get out of his grip and immediately seize the opportunity to make a run for it. I immediately jolted out of his hold, but before I can take a second stride away from his direction a broad hand latches onto my back, clutching a fistful of my jacket resulting in me being instantly yanked towards the direction of a red brick wall.
Despite my attempts to brace myself I still manage to bang my left arm against the wall causing me the grunt and put my hand on my hurt arm. When I hear an animalistic grunt I look up to see it had come from the large man dressed in black who seemed as though he was about to ram right into me.
My eyes widen as my previous assumption is confirmed when I see the rather sizable man moving quickly in my exact direction. Although I do not have much time to think or react I do have enough time to quickly step to the side and hear a satisfying thud as my attacker collides with the wall.
In reacting the man lets out another loud grunt as he slowly turns his head towards me, his eyes filled with rage. I take a loud gulp taking a few hesitant steps backwards before turning on my heel and dashing in the opposite direction of the now angered man. I do not get very far though as something knocks the side of my head, hitting it off the side of the wall causing my knees to buckle leaving me to crumple to the ground with a thud.
Panic begins to flood through me as I see a blurred figure stepping towards me in my peripheral vision so in an effort to escape whatever he may have planned I shakily try to push myself up off the ground only for a foot to be placed on me and push me down again with another painful thud.
I feel the pain shoot through my body with the amount of pressure the man is applying onto me with his foot, but despite the pain, my eyes slowly begin to close. However, the snap open once again when I hear someone shout something along the lines of, "Hey! Get away from them!"
I would look up to see who was speaking, but it is as though all my strength has been taken away from my body, but I can manage to figure out it was a male responsibly for the painfully loud shout.
Suddenly I hear a click and then a loud bang goes off above my head, followed by another and then a thud...He....shot him...
