lately
i've been thinking a lot
about things like
constellations
i like how we look at the sky
at the stars
and tell stories
i like cassiopeia
on her throne
and orion
with his belt
i like ursa major
and minor
and all the stars in between
i like it because of the humanity of it all
seeking connection
seeking strength
seeking history
in all places
even the heavens
you know
i think humans are always seeking connection
especially in places
where it seems unlikely
we are weaving stories
of gods and monsters
princes and saviors
stories that make the infinity of the galaxy
a little less
i think that's beautiful
in a way
all alone
on a green planet
all alone
and searching
for a tether
all alone
and writing and talking
until we build that tether ourselves
our tether to the stars
(i like the stars so much i almost envy cassiopeia for becoming one)
