Savannah's P.O.V
"Savannah, tell the people at table six that it's time to leave. We have to close the restaurant." I roll my eyes making my way to Blaze's table and abruptly put the bill down on the table interrupting their conversation.
"Pay and leave," I said and turned to walk away but to my annoyance, Blaze stopped me
"I don't think I'll tip the service here, it's a bit too rude and has no manners. Right Chance?"
"Yep, I swear my beer was spat in, I think that was meant for you." Oh please Spit? If I wanted to put something in Blaze's drink it would be poison. I would put poison in his drink.
"Defiantly not tipping."
"Don't tip then, just pay the damn bill and leave we have to close the restaurant," I said cutting in again not having any more patience to deal with their useless conversation about me.
"But not tipping would seem rude wouldn't it?" Blaze continued completely ignoring me.
Chance just shrugged.
"Seriously Blaze just pay and leave, Dave has been getting mad at me throughout my shift a lot today. I can't lose this job."
He smirked "One condition."
"What?"
"You'll leave with me."
"No," I said immediately
"I'm actually really comfortable here, it's a good place to hang out, isn't it? We should come here often."
I groaned "Why are you making my life miserable? If you are worried about your secret it's safe with me I swear. Just leave me alone."
His whole posture changed signaling Chance to leave "I'm going to start the car."
"Don't you want to know why I left? Why I lied?" Yes, I needed to know it's been eating away at me for the past year.
"No, now will you leave, or do you want me to call security."
He gave me a lazy smirk "Lying has never been your thing Savy."
"Not everyone is a liar like you." Again I turned to leave but he pulled me back into his lap locking me down with a strong grip on my waist. I struggled against him but it was no use, I turned around looking for Dave but he was nowhere to be found.
"You've got to stop throwing that in my face every five seconds and stop looking around your boss is out with Chance helping him look for his keys."
My eyes snap back to his "Let go of me."
"Not until you listen to me."
"I don't want to hear anything. You're back congratulations, now let me live my life as it was before you came back. Everything is perfectly fine and it will be once you leave like you did again. I don't need you around me anymore."
"You don't need me, I need you." He said cutting into my rant
"No, you don't. I need to leave before it gets too late. My dad will get mad and I still have to go to the Store."
He let go of my waist and grabbed my face gently making me look into his eyes "You never needed me, I did. I do."
. . . Flashback. . .
"Cage, come on let's go out tonight," I said trying to pull him off of my bed
He looked at me amused "You know trying to pull me up isn't really going to work."
"But why? Why don't you want to go out with me? Are you embarrassed about me?" I stopped trying to pull him and walked away sitting on my desk.
"Savy, you know that's not the reason. Why would I be embarrassed about you?"
"I don't know. We haven't gone on a proper date at all. The only place we show up together is Fight Night. Are you trying to hide something from me Cage?"
He shot up from my bed and walked over to be leaning down so our lips were perfectly aligned "What do you think I'm trying to hide?"
My mind fogged up with the short amount of space between us, but I shook my head and leaned away a bit. We needed to talk about this today. "I don't know. I don't know anything about you. You're so secretive. What are you-"
"Baby... I'm not trying to hide anything from you nor am I embarrassed by you. I need you around, I'm afraid you'll see someone else, someone better. Whether you know it or not. I need you Savy."
"Cage, I will never leave you. I'm going to say this once so get it through your head. No one has ever treated me the way you have made me feel the way you have. Leaving you would be the biggest mistake of my life."
. . . Present . . .
I scoff "Please the only thing that you ever needed was something to feed your ego. You don't need anyone, you're a cold-hearted asshole."
He groaned out of frustration and yanked my face towards his harshly "Maybe this will change your mind."
His eyes narrow to my lips as I give him a bewildered expression. Mental alarms went off. No, I began to struggle with him right away, but it was ineffective because he had me pinned down. My wrath grew as his lips gently touched mine in an attempt to get me to kiss him back. All of our memories began to flood my thoughts. I gave him a forceful bite to the lip, causing him to squirm and shove me against the table. "What the -" I smack him hard before letting him finish.
"Who the hell do you think you are? You can't just show up a year later as if nothing happened and kiss me. Yeah, I have a lot of questions that have been eating away at me but my life didn't stop. I have responsibilities that I had to pick up, I have to work to keep a roof over my head, I have to do things for my dad, that I don't want to so he doesn't-" I stop myself mid-sentence, shit I almost told him about what I have to go through every night. "Get out of the store, stay away from me okay? Your secret is safe with me." I take a deep breath "Just stay away from me. I don't need you anymore. I learned how to take care of myself."
"What does he do?"
"Is that all you got out of everything I just said?"
"Anything that has to do with your safety is my business. So I'm only going to ask this one more time what does he do to you?"
"And I'm only going to say this one more time. You are nothing more than Elena's cousin, you have no right in my life."
"Don't tell me. Fine, I will figure it out by myself." He got up abruptly knocking over the chair he was sitting on and towered over me "You know Savannah, just because I let you go doesn't mean I wanted to."
I watched him leave the store, leaving me in the wonder of his words. If he didn't want to leave then why did he? How was he going to find out what was going on in my life? Who is he?
