Savannah's P.O.V
It's been two weeks since I last saw Blaze, which was good, he was giving me enough space to breathe. Blaze being around me is so suffocating, Elena and I have been hanging out a lot like old times, she's really happy. I am happy for her, being around her makes all my problems disappear.
"Annah, can I ask you a question?"
"Yeah, shoot."
"Why are you and Blaze so weird around each other? I mean Blaze has been completely avoiding me for the past week and I think it has something to do with you. No offense." I started choking on the fries we were having for lunch at her house.
"Woah, Annah. Here have some water."
I greedily drank it back, once I was okay I took a deep breath "Nothing, I just think we aren't comfortable around each other yet. We just need time."
"Ellie? Where are you? I have the fight to get to, hurry up."
"In the kitchen. I'm ready don't get your panties in a twist."
"What are you-" He stopped talking locking eyes with me, I quickly looked away and cleared my throat
"Well then, I should get going, Ellie. Have fun at the fight."
"Don't you think it's a little unsafe at your house?" My eyes snapped back to his, silently telling him to shut up making him smirk in return.
Ellie looked at him confused "Unsafe? What are you talking about?"
He looked away from me and saw what she was wearing "Go change."
"No, you are-"
"I am not taking you like that nor am I letting you go out like that by yourself like that. Go change now."
She clenched her jaw out of anger and stormed upstairs muttering a bunch of not-so-nice words towards him. Once she was out of sight, he started his questioning like always "So she doesn't know?"
"She knows everything. I'm not hiding anything from her."
"So she knows her best friend gets beat by a belt every night if she forgets a case of beer? She knows that you steal to get alcohol for your father?"
"How did you?"
He chuckled "I may have not been around you but I kept an eye on you Savy. You do some sketchy shit for your dad don't you?"
I took a deep breath "I don't do anything that isn't legal. I do what I have to and you should have no business in all this in the first place Blaze."
"Shut up Savannah. You are hiding these things from the one person who trusts you the most out of everyone. Why?"
"To every question, my answer will be the same. None of your business."
"Fine, then you won't mind me telling Annah that the scars and bruises you hide aren't from your clumsiness. There's someone that takes his anger out on you."
Did he see my dad? "You don't know how much self-control it took not to knock that door down and beat the crap out of your dad. Watching him throw you around like a rag doll."
As he spoke flashbacks of last night's beating came to mind, I shook my head trying to get rid of them. "Why do you go through it? Why are you still there?"
"I don't have to answer to you." I started to walk away from him but he yanked me towards him.
He stared into my eyes for a couple of minutes making me uncomfortable, I tried to look away but he held my head firmly keeping me in place "Eyes, those damn eyes fucked me over."
