"Mafumafu-san, are you in there?"
Knock once.
Knock twice.
Knock thrice.
The door opened, revealing the familiar friend of mine. His eyes were red and puffy, tear streaks here and there as he gazed upon me with a frown, replacing his usual bright smile.
"(U/N-san)..." He spoke, voice barely above a whisper as I hugged him tightly.
"Shh...shh...hey, it's gonna be okay, alright? Me and Soraru-san are here for you, don't cry."
He rested his head on my shoulder, and broke down. I didn't mind the tears staining my shirt, I just wanted to make sure he was okay.
As an Utaite, it was quite a surprise that he was open about everything about him. Especially his address and other personal information. At first, it was going well, but...
Some people decided to take advantage of that, and chaos had begun.
Some had started to stalk him, whenever he went. Obsession had been knocking on his apartment door for every day, breaking each and every inch of him and slowly drowned him into the infamous thing called depression.
As a fellow Utaite, I just couldn't leave him hanging at the time. I was willing to enter into his life just to make sure he was safe, because it broke me to see any person like this.
Making a close friend of mine, Soraru, tag along, we then entered Mafumafu's life, first as collaboration starters. From there, we started to help him with everything. He happily accepted our help, luckily, and we did it.
We helped him, we helped him fend off obsessive fans, and helped him keep his personal information safe. We worked harder and harder, until our money was enough to buy a new apartment.
But, that didn't entirely mean that he was feeling fine in the process. He was still sad, and hid it behind a smile. I just needed a final blow. A final blow so that I could make him like before.
Make him smile again.
Make him happy again.
It was now the present, and everything was back to normal. Well, almost everything.
We; Me and Soraru, got Mafumafu back to his old, smiling self, and we were super happy by the results.
He made even more friends, gained even more popularity, and no more obsessive fans to stalk him anymore.
And by that time, in fact, I was the most popular of all Utaites. But now, he surpassed me.
I wasn't angry, nor depressed at all.
I was proud of him.
Proud of him being able to express himself now, and smile in front of a camera even though it was covered by a mask.
But little by little, my feelings for him grew, and the more time that passed with just the two of us, the more harder and faster my heart would beat for him, and more and more red my face would grow.
But I knew that I had the littlest chance of being with him. After all, he just viewed me as a big sister to depend on if he needed help. I bet that he loved GochiUsa more than me, quite actually.
"(U/N)-chan! (U/N)-nee! Are you there?"
The familiar voice that I heard that I never grew tired of snapped me out of my deep sea of thoughts, causing me to glance at him with a red face and a smile.
"Y-Yeah! I-I'm fine, so don't w-w-worry!" Here I go again with the stuttering.
"Okay, if you say so...your face is red, but I'll trust you this time." He says, worried eyes and a bright smile directed at me.
I know that now isn't the right time to confess, and I know that he still doesn't realize my feelings for him.
But, I'll be patient.
Just for him.
