"Mafumafu-san."

"Yeah?"

"I caught..."

"What did you catch?"

"I caught a shiny Haunter."

Mafumafu, my friend, had immediately dropped whatever he was holding, and rushed over to my side, in which I indeed had caught a shiny Haunter in my copy of Pokémon FireRed.

"What?! How?!"

"I...I don't know. Luck, I guess."

"You must be extremely lucky!"

"Oh please, you can fight me a ton of times in the Colosseum and I'd still lose."

"That's just skill, y'know!"

"Aha. Aha."

"What's so funny?!"

Silence...

"Mafumafu-san, you still have your (Pokémon), right?"

"Yeah, why're you asking that?"

"Nothing in particular, just curious."

And right after that moment, he proceeded to do what he had recently been doing, whilst the purple Gameboy Advance in my hand still flickered. I smirked to myself; a surprise in particular I had for him had formed.

Timeskip

Deciding to stay over for the night and help him out with a song composition since he had asked, I laid on the white futon sprawled across the floor, whilst Mafumafu was asleep on his bed.

I was wide awake, and had been up just to wait for him to fall asleep. Creeping out of the futon, I tiptoed my way over to his desk, taking peeks from behind to see if his sleep was disturbed. Luckily, he wasn't disturbed.

'Bingo.'

I thought, afterwards pulling a drawer to reveal the thing I had been searching; his Gameboy Advanced. Sliding in a cartridge of his FireRed gameplay, I opened up my Gameboy with the same game.

Before trading, I opened up my Emerald and bought Shadow Mail from a store I paid no attention to whatsoever, since I had a letter for him. I can't help but blush madly whilst typing this, since this will be my confession for my long-time crush.

Letting one of my beloved Ralts hold the mail, I traded it to my FireRed via Link Cable, and after that process I immediately took the mail from the Ralts and giving it to my Haunter.

Linking his console with mine with a GBA Game Link Cable provided with it, the trade had begun. I casually chose a (Random Pokémon) to trade with my Pokémon.

After making a few seconds pass, the usual animation of the traded Pokémon had appeared, and I quietly celebrated to myself. The surprise was done, and both games had been saved.

I proceeded to close both consoles, slide out the cartridges, placed them in their proper places, and slid in my futon to await what happens for tomorrow.

Timeskip again.

Tomorrow was now today, and the both of us were taking a break from song composition. We were almost done, just thinking about the last few lyrics we were about to put.

Silence reigned over the both of us, none bothering to break it. It wasn't the awkward type of silence at all; it was actually pretty relaxing after minutes and hours of having earbuds and headphones stuffed in your ears.

"(U/N)-san, it's been a long time since we played Pokémon, right?" He broke the silence with a lingering question.

"More like you, actually." I answered.

"That's true." He said with a giggle, causing me to blush slightly.

"Let's just continue working, we're almost done."

"Okay!"

Timeskip again, I promise this is the last sksksk

Mafumafu's POV
After finishing the song, (U/N) had recently just left, so I decided to relieve memories by opening up my GBA.

Popping in my FireRed cartridge, the usual animation had played. A fight between a Nidorino and my favorite, Gengar. The start screen was in full display, a Charizard in pose and little fireballs.

I pressed A, and selected my Save File with hesitance. I didn't remember my last save that much, but I knew that this wasn't the time I had saved in. Was it hacked or some sort? I wasn't sure.

I was in a Pokémon Center, right in the center. I didn't remember being here; I'm pretty sure I was around Celadon City Department Store by that time. Weird, and kinda scary.

"I should check my team..." I mumbled to no one, it was just me, Iroha, and Potato-chan, after all. Silence like earlier reigned over my entire room, other than the purring emanating from Iroha whom I pet and the button pressing.

The Start button was pressed, and the D-Pad was used to navigate. The option 'POKéMON' was found and I mashed A on that.

My team was the same as always. My Venausaur was in place, an Umbreon I traded from another game I had, a Zapdos I had recently caught; everything was in proper place except for one thing.

Why were there two Gengars in my team?

I checked the first one; a male one. It was my Gengar, same stats, same IVs, same moves, same Pokéball; same everything. Its signature grin that I grew to love was still present, so I didn't have to worry.

Pressing the down of the D-Pad to check the other Gengar, and I was surprised, really.

The Gengar was just the same gender as mine, but something about it was different. It was a shiny one, almost reminding me of (U/N)'s Haunter. Realization hits me like a truck.

That's because it was her Haunter, now a Gengar due to the trade.

It looks like she actually trained up her Haunter, which was now Gengar, since it was quite high-leveled and has a good moveset. The Trainer ID was different, along with the Original Trainer tab with her character's name engraved on it.

'Sneaky as always, but that's what I love about her.'

I thought, grinning like an idiot. I noticed that the Gengar seemed to be holding something, so I decided to take it from the Gengar. It was some mail, so I decided to read it.

'HEY, THERE   ...
I   REALLY
LIKE   YOU
SO    HERE
!'

I can't help but smile and chuckle at the message, imagining her actually blushing madly while typing this. I smiled to myself, knowing that my crush also liked me back.

Grabbing my phone, and scrolling down, I pressed a specific icon and texted her.

'Thanks for the Gengar, and I love you too. Let's go on a date tomorrow!'
