"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before."

She stared at the boy with wide eyes as she looked him up and down. He was sitting in the corner staring back at her with a cold stare. She ran her fingers into her hair again pulling roughly at the roots swearing she heard strands ripping from her scalp. Although she felt pain in multiple places on her body she didn't let her eyesight falter from the boy in front of her. She wasn't the one who spoke first unfortunately.

"Thanks for letting them know that I was in here genius," he snarled with anger his mouth set into a menacing scowl. She didn't dare answer him, taking the time to inspect the boy.

His skin was pale, not dying pale but the kind of pale you get if you live in a place that doesn't have much sun. He had full pink lips and an angular jaw that could tell was clenching together white teeth.

The sides of his hair seemed like it had been shaved in the past and was trying to grow back becoming little black stubbles. His dark hair falling into his eyes sticking to a sweaty forehead, she stopped at his striking cobalt eyes. She only broke contact when she noticed his eyes narrow at her, looking up at him she pulled her knees closer to her body.

Chuckling at her he shook his head "What, are you dumb? Don't know how to talk?" He smirked. Shaking her head she could still feel her heart beating a mile a minute in her chest cavity.

Looking around the bathroom Cordelia noted that the walls were dirty and they were out of hand soap. She knew she was trying to keep herself calm and not talk to the only normal person she had seen in that amount of time.

Finally she looked at him again, "Yes I know how to talk, no I'm not dumb, and my name is Cordelia." She answered all of his questions softly. "You look familiar, do I know you?" She added.

Before he could answer there was pounding on the heavy aluminum bathroom doors. Shrieking, Cordelia crawled away from the door and slammed her back into the opposite wall almost landing on her companions body. On the other side of the door she could here the ghoul clawing at the door; it seemed that these creatures were always wailing.

Quickly moving off of the boy with the blue eyes she sat on the other side of the wall to give him some space, "Sorry." She whispered. Before she could stop herself, she asked the question that had been running through her mind since she closed the door. "How do we get out of here?" She blurted making eye contact with him once again.

Embarrassment flooded her body when all she received from him was a stare. "Thanks to you, I have no clue how to get out without getting ripped to shreds." He replied crudely, standing and crossing his arms over his chest.

Now that he was standing she could look at him better, he was tall with big arms and a slender build. She wondered if he fought everyday to become the way he was or if that was the way he filled out naturally.

Standing up, Cordelia felt anger flood through her body, pointing a finger at his chest she challenged silently. "Don't blame me for wanting to live you bastard." She sneered, baring her teeth almost like the very beast outside the door.

Pushing her hand out of his face, he rolled his eyes, "Well for starters we're not going to get out of here with all of this fighting. Any ideas?" He sneered back at Cordelia.
