Hey everyone. The video above is very funny and also from Joe's You Tube channel. I thought it would be fun to include because it explains why I made Joe lactose intolerant in my story.
JOE'S POV
We stared into each other's eyes. Ben had the most perfect eyes. They light green with prominent hints of brown. I could stare into them all day. They colors kept developing into a story. He was a good man...OMG did I make it obvious! Their was an awkward silence. Ben in probably really sad.
"Ben, I am really sorry about..." he cut me off.
"No don't be. I was going to break up with her eventually. When I met her, I thought that he relationship could be long term. That is the only reason I agreed to be with her. I am not in the business of having stupid one night or month things. I realized that it was going nowhere tonight."
"Wow that is a great way of looking at it!"
A few moments later Ben started a conversation with Lily. He was so kind to her and I think it meant a lot to her. She was herself and I could tell she enjoyed talking to him, She didn't feel awkward. Lily has been so much and the little bit of happiness she can get, in greatly needed. When their thirty-five minuet conversation about Disney princess and softball, Lily's favorite sport, was over Lily told me she was tired. She laid her head down on the booth, and fell asleep.
Ben and I just sat their. Then I was feeling daring enough to tell him how I felt about him...
"Ben can I tell you something?"
"Yeah sure, what is it!" He said so kindly.
"Well up until yesterday evening, I hated you, but in this past day I have learned that you are a kind soul. You are very thoughtful, and Lily really likes you..." he cut me off again! I couldn't get the good part out. Why does he constantly do that!
"I like you too Joe and I am so glad that someone has taken the time to get to know the real me. And Lily, usually I hate kids, but I love spending time with Lily."
"You know I don't really know you that well." I said wanting to know every detail of his life.
"Well, I had a drunk drug attic single mom, who didn't care one bit about me. I lived in Brooklyn, NY, and I spent most nights hungry. The only thing she paid for was dance lesson. That didn't even last that long. She stopped paying after like six months, when my dad left us. My dance teacher raised me and gave me free dance lesson. He taught me about having faith in God, and we went to Church together. I still go every Sunday. Um...he urged me to stay in school, so I did. When I turned 18 I got a job and made some money. I also gave dance lesson for money as well. When I has enough saved up I went to auditions in Manhattan. I got this audition, and four years later here I am. My favorite color is green. I love reading books and watching movies late at night on the couch in my house."
"Wow, I never would have though...a"he began to say before I cut him off.
"Well that all their is to know about me, tell me about you."
"Well my sister and I were orphaned when our parents died in a car crash and our aunt and uncle didn't want us. We were moved from home to home in this town and never left. We went to public school. My sister was smart and went to collage. She was going to be a doctor, until she met a man who got her pregnant. He left her immediately. I hate him so much. She was never able to graduate. Her life was directed to taking are of Lily. She loved Lily so much and was the best mother I knew. I never even bothered with collage because I wanted to be an actor. Four years ago I tried out for your part, but obviously I didn't get it. My sister died soon after, and I took Lily. I needed a job so I went to ask if I could help with special effects and backdrops. I got rejected but when I told the manager my situation he gave me the job out of pity. I still hope to be an actor. I am lactose intolerant. That's why I couldn't eat any ice cream. If I did we would have a real situation on our hands. My favorite color is red, and I also lobe reading books and watching movies late at night on the couch at my house."
"Haha very funny. I actually do. I have a pet."
"Oh really you have a pet." I said in a disbelieving tone.
"It a turtle. His name is Tiger. I almost ran him over one day while I was driving. When I got out of the car he was missing an arm. It wasn't my fault because I didn't hit him, but I still felt bad. I took him to the nearby vet where thy fixed him up. It is so horrible people treat animals like that are nothings. They are humans too." He said with passion.
"Actually they are technically not humans, but what do I know I don't have any pets." I said in a matter of factually tone.
We laughed and I suggested that I head home with Lily. I wanted to keep spending time with Ben but I didn't know when or how to ask.
BEN'S POV
We spent the evening talking and getting to know each other. I didn't want the night to end, but Joe suggested that he should take Lily home. We got up, and Joe had Lily in his arms.
"Ben." He said as we got outside.
"That my name don't wear it out," I said awkwardly, regretting it the moment I said it.
"Did you say that you go to Church on Sunday's still."
"Yeah why," I said hoping he was going to ask to come.
"Do you think Lily and I could come in the morning. I want her to have religious values because I think they are important. I never had anyone to teach me about religion." He said hesitantly.
"Of course," I said excitedly.
"Joe" I said.
"That my name don't wear it out," he said smirking and making me laugh.
"Do you think that I could hold Lily?"
"Yeah, I think if she were awake she would prefer you anyway." He said with a huge smile.
He handed me the small child and I held her in my arms. She was so warm and precious. I loved being around Joe and Lily. We walked the rest of the way home in comfortable silence, and I helped Joe tuck Lily into bed. I left saying a short goodbye and couldn't wait to see them in the morning.
I hope this chapter is good! I tried really hard and had fun writing it!
