Chapter 8

JOE'S POV 

Oh no I thought to myself, he knows! Wait one josh darn minuet, does he like me too? 

BEN'S POV 

Oh Lord Christ! Joe is so adorable, and don't even get me started on Lily! They are both perfect. Lily is a genius for her age, and extremely polite. We were nearing the end of the service, and I didn't want it to end, so I decided I would invite them to brunch. 

I was slightly nervous, but I asked anyway. 

"Hey. Do you guys want to get some brunch after this?" I whispered. 

"Umm...yeah suurree?" Joe responded. 

I was glad that he did but I really hoped is was not too obvious. 

"This mass has ended go in peace."the priest declared. Seconds later we were shimmying our way out of the pews. We exited the doors in the back f the Church and began to walk. Before we got too far I was stopped by the older ladies who always attend Mass. I realized that Maryanne was having trouble getting down the stairs so I went and escorted her. I spoke with the group for a few moments and introduced them to Joe and Lily, and we were on our way again. 

Joe said we should go to dinner that we went to last night because they have amazing breakfast, and that the dinner was Lily's favorite. I was fine with that because I am not too picky. I will eat anything any time. We walked in and I saw Krystal!

JOE'S POV

We walked in and sat down in a booth. I set Lily up with her crayon and kids menu to color, and then looked up at Ben. I could tell he was uncomfortable. I wished that he was not uncomfortable because he knew I lov... liked him, and didn't feel the same way. 

We sat their and I felt horrible. I mean how can I go from two days ago, being straight and hating him, to now being gay and really likening him. I looked away and realized what was going on... Krystal was here. She had a questionable outfit on and was with some guy who looked very wealthy. That type of girl was not good enough for Ben. I realized that is why Ben is uncomfortable. She kept looking at us. 

"Do you want to go?" I asked Ben.

"Well, yeah I kind of do. I'm sorry this whole brunch this was my idea too." He said. 

"No don't worry about it. Let's go." I said getting up with Lily in my arms. Ben headed toward the door with me following close behind. 

Out of no where I was jolted, causing me to drop Lily, sending her flying onto the floor. She was crying and screaming. Ben told me too go to her, because I was frozen in panic. His reassuring look make me feel safe. I ran to Lily not looking back. When I got to her, I realized that her arm was probably broken, so I pulled out my phone and called 911. I told them what happened, and they said an ambulance. The moments after that were a blur, happening in slow motion. 

The ambulance arrived and the paramedics carefully pick up Lily, and put her in the ambulance. I was scared but held her hand (of the other arm) and sang her favorite song to sooth her, Spared Your Wings. She calmed down, but mostly because of the pain meds. 

In the blink of an eye, we were at the hospital. The doctors sedated Lily so that they could pop her elbow back into the socket, because she had dislocated it. Her bone was back in place and she woke up 45 minuets later. She was complaining of a really bad headache and the doctors asked me if something else had happened when she fell. I replayed what had happened. It was all a blur, but then I realized she had hit her head. My heart began to pound rapidly, and I could hear each beat, and my stomach was in my throat. 

"She hit her head." I sad slowly, and then everything went black. 

BEN'S POV 

Krystal had pushed Joe and Lily was hurt. I knew she was bad news. I turned around and tried to contain my anger. She was screaming an yelling, but I tuned her out. I could have killed her in that moments, but instead I pushed her up against the wall and struggled to hold her back. She punched and scratched me multiple times. Then finally the police came and escorted her down to the station, where in my opinion she belonged. Joe and Lily were gone. 

I walked all the way to hospital, and when I got there Lily was having brain surgery, to defuse a, aneurysm in her brain that she developed when she hit her head, and Joe had fainted and not woken up yet. I went to Joe's room and sat next to his bed. He woke up later and was worried about Lily. He was not quite lucid when he said,

"I love you, Benjamin Hardy." 

I said, "I love you too." 

I realized he was not aware of the situation but it felt so right to say it back. Then Lily was wheeled into the room. By this time, Joe was in his right state of mind, and didn't remember our exchange. The nurse came into to clean up some of my cuts, and tell us that Lily was fine, but needed to stay in the hospital for at least three more days for observation. I was so relived. Joe told me to go home and get some rest because I had to be at work in the morning. 

I got into my bed and thought about Joe. If he really meant what he said and loved me, I couldn't loose him. I would be leaving soon for Hollywood again, for another movie in another town, far away from him. I couldn't leave him, but I also just started my acting career. I have a decision to make and it is not going to b an easy one.
