Chapter 1 - Horse Thief

You could feel the warm sun on your back as you were crouched down in the tall grass. You could feel the breeze on your face as it blew right at you as it tossed your (h/c) hair away from your face. You smiled to yourself as that just confirmed that you were down wind of your target. Your confidence soared as you inched slightly closer. For standing in front of you was your objective as it happily munched on the apples that you had painstakingly gathered and piled up for him.

You sat still and marveled at his beauty. For he stood about eighteen hands high from his large black hooves to his beautiful shining black shoulders. His long gorgeous black mane and tail would occasionally move as the wind would catch it as it gusted past him. His strong legs and hind quarters would occasionally quiver as the various bugs would try to land on him.

He was absolutely gorgeous in your eyes with his white strip that ran from his forehead on down to his muzzle. You had named him Blaze, even though it wasn't official, since you still hadn't caught him yet. For he had been evading you for weeks now as you tried numerous times to try and catch him. But every time someone or something would spook him.

But not today. You thought to yourself as you inched further forward. Today he would be yours. Today you and Blaze would be one as you rode astride his back. Today you would feel his power under you as raced across the pasture at the top speed that you knew that he had. Today you would finally get your next best friend.

Your crept forward again as you were now within inches of being out of the tall grass that was providing you with some cover. Suddenly Blaze looked up and over his shoulder at the grass behind him. Now was your chance, you quickly got up to race over and jump on his back. When suddenly there was a rush from the grass on the other side of Blaze. All you saw was a flash of brown as someone ran out of the grass and jumped right on him. You quickly stood up and stopped in your tracks and looked up in shock as someone with long blonde hair leaped onto Blaze's back. Blaze reared and bolted off at a high speed gallop as he raced away.

"NOOOOOOOOO!" You shouted at them as they raced off.

What the fuck? Where the hell did he come from? You screamed in your head.

Ohhhhhhh. Your not getting him. I didn't just spend weeks trying to catch him for someone else to steal him. You angrily thought.

Then you whistled for your horse Misty, who had been grazing off to the side. She looked up then she quickly came trotting up. While she was moving, you reached up and grabbed the saddle horn and leaped onto your horse as you pulled yourself up by the saddle. You grabbed the reins and quickly kicked your horse forward. Your horse lurched forward as she raced off after the flying stallion and horse thief.

She wasn't as fast as Blaze or as strong. But for what she lacked in speed and strength. She more than made up for in agility and intelligence. She could easily out maneuver any horse around. And was smart enough to recognize a dangerous situation.

Her golden mane and tail where flying behind her as she raced after the horse thief. You could feel her thinner, beautiful, white, frame thundering after the much larger black stallion. Her agile feet always finding the perfect foot holes as she raced across the uneven terrain. He may be fast. But he was currently distracted and not really running full out. Which was in your favor.

Blaze was putting up one hell of a fight though as he thrashed this way and that as he tried to free himself of this unwanted passenger. But it seemed that this one wasn't going anywhere as it held fast with their legs tightly pressed against his ribcage. The rider kept turning Blaze this way and that as he trying to distract the horse from bolting again. Then every time Blaze moved in the direction that he was asked to go to, he received a calming pat and rub from this strange creature.
