You stirred as you heard the creek of the stairs. Then you caught a faint hint of eggs and warm biscuits. You slowly opened your eyes to see Link walk into the room and set down a tray that had two plates of scrambled eggs, fresh apple slices and hot fluffy biscuits. You slowly started to sit up as you watched him set down the tray. Then you saw him pull out a small tea pot and a small candle burner from his bag. Then he set them down and turned to see you partial up as you tried to brace yourself with your left arm.

"Are you hungry?" He asked as he gave you a tender smile. "I had bought some eggs and apples, and figured that we could have a good breakfast this morning."

"You didn't have to do that." You said as you hissed through the pain as you forced yourself to sit up completely.

"I know." He said with a slight smile. "But I wanted to."

"I should be the one serving you." You said as you dropped your head. "Not the other way around. After all, it was you who helped me out."

"Let's call it even instead." He said as he stood up and walked over to the bed.

You looked up at him and gave him a curious look. "How is it that you can't say that so easily. You don't even know me."

"I know enough about you to know that your not a person who is a threat to me." Link said with a smile.

You looked down with a slight smile. "Thank you. But anyone would say that to me with my arm in a sling and me being all bandaged up."

"It's not that." Link said as he sat down on the bed. "I can tell just by how you are with Misty and with Blaze. You have a kind heart. And that is a trait that I really like."

You looked up and gave him a stunned look.

"And besides, I think Impa's right." Link continued as he reached up and moved your hair behind your ear. "I do need your help. I'm terrible with directions and tend to get lost very easily. You seem to know this area very well."

You couldn't help but to get lost in his big blue eyes as they looked right at you. "Well sure. But are you sure that you want me to do it?"

"Well I don't know that many people at the present time." Link said as he glanced down for a moment before he looked back up at you. "Plus I would love to get to know you better."

Your heart leaped in your chest as you saw his eyes search yours as if he was pleading with you. He was being serious. No one looked at someone like he was at you without meaning what they said. Perhaps this would work out. Perhaps he would accept your help for more then just directions.

"I will be your guide." You said as you slightly tilted your head. "But only under one condition."

Link gave you a confused look. "And what would that be?"

"Let me be your squire." You said as you gave him a very serious look. "Let me help you in every way that I can. Whether it's with directions, or with fighting, and even with hunting and preparing food."

Link looked taken back by the request. "You....want to be my....squire? Are you serious?"

Damn it. I knew he wouldn't like it. You thought as you dropped your head as you were starting to get embarrassed for even asking. I have overstepped my boundaries now. I shouldn't have asked. No knight would ever accept a girl.

"Never mind." You quickly said as you moved away from him as you turned to face the wall so that you could slip off the foot of the bed behind him. "Forget I said anything."

"Now wait a minute. You can't say something like that then just take it back." He said as he leaned over you and placed one hand across you so that he had you blocked. "Why do you want to be my squire?"
