In the city of Musutafu, Japan, we see a young woman with her husband in a small apartment. The woman is cooking dinner for her husband. "Hmm..." The woman ponders. "Hey Hisashi," she calls. "Yeah?" The man, now known as Hisashi, responds. "Do you want katsudon for dinner?" She asks. "You sure katsudon is good for the baby, Inko?" The man asks concerned. Indeed, the woman, Inko Midoriya, is 4 months pregnant and can't wait for her baby to arrive. Inko Midoriya is a petit woman with dark green hair tied in a ponytail, dark green eyes, and a heart of gold. Her quirk is the ability to attract small objects towards her. Hisashi Midoriya has curly black hair and works as a scientist. With smoldering amber eyes and four freckles on each of his cheeks arranged in a diamond pattern, his quirk is the ability to breathe fire. He's also excited for the baby, but he's more nervous about his capability as a father than anything else. "It's fine, Hisashi. Don't worry so much!" The woman laughs. "I know, I know. I just want to make sure our baby lives a good life," The man responds. The woman goes up to her husband and says, "Don't worry, you'll be a great father," and plants a kiss on his cheek. "I love you, Inko," the man says, looking lovingly at his wife. "I love you too, Hisashi," the woman sighs contently, laying her head on his chest. The two lovers fall asleep on the couch, embracing each other. It's sad that this lovely little family will soon be torn apart by tragedy nobody could've foreseen.

                         5 months later

Inko and Hisashi are enjoying a pleasant evening at home. The baby is expected to arrive at any minute and both of them can't wait to meet their little angel. They're currently watching some old movies Hisashi had brought with him when they moved into the apartment. "I can't believe you watch this stuff, it's scary!" Inko exclaimed. Hisashi sighed, "Relax Inko, it's a movie, none of it's real." "That doesn't really help!" She retaliated, playfully punching him in the shoulder. "You better not show any of these to Izuku," Inko warned.

Izuku was the name Inko and Hisashi had decided on for the baby. Hisashi had first suggested the idea, saying he got it from a friend when he had to work abroad in the States for a while. To Hisashi's delight, Inko adored the name, and so Izuku would be the name of their first child.

That's if he doesn't find them first," Hisashi joked. "Very funny," Inko sarcastically said. Hisashi merely laughed.

Suddenly, Inko gasped and felt something wet drip down her legs. Hisashi immediately checked to see if she was okay. "Inko what's wrong?!" He asked, concerned and scared for his wife. Inko looked at him and weakly said, "I-It's c-coming." In a heartbeat, Hisashi turned on the car, carried Inko inside, and drove as fast as he could to the hospital. When he arrived, he got out of the car and carried Inko into the hospital. "HEY! SOMEONE HELP! MY WIFE'S GIVING BIRTH!" Hisashi yelled frantically. Doctors and nurses immediately put Inko on a stretcher and moved her to the maternity unit. "I just need you to breathe, okay? Just deep breaths," the midwife explained. Inko nodded and began trying to calm herself down. Meanwhile, Hisashi was worried out of his mind and pacing outside the room.

Was Inko going be okay? Would the baby be okay?

So many questions were filling his head that it was getting overwhelming. His heart was beating so fast he felt like it would explode out of his chest. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the midwife stepped out. Hisashi looked at him, but instead of looking happy or relieved, the doctor looked somber and sad. "What? What happened?!" Hisashi asked panicking. "We were successfully able to deliver the baby. B-But your wife..." Hisashi didn't need him to finish. He felt as if his entire world was crumbling around him. The love of his life, the woman he thought he'd spend the rest of his days with, the one person he thought he could count on to always be there for him, was gone. The doctor took the baby from the nurse and handed it to Hisashi. He looked at the baby as it slowly opened it's eyes. He watched as the baby's brilliant dark green orbs looked up at him. 'Just like Inko,' Hisashi thought. He took the baby and drove back home. Once he arrived he put the baby in it's crib and went to his room. He plopped down on the bed and cried.

And cried

And cried

And cried

He cried until he didn't have enough energy left to cry anymore and fell asleep.

This was the beginning of the hard and painful road that would shape Izuku Midoriya into the hero he is today.
