Solangelo fanfiction: Significant annoyance

Chapter 4:

Will's p.o.v.

Today we were one week after that truth or dare game. Through the whole week, Nico has been avoiding me and I really don't know why.
He doesn't visit me in the infirmary anymore, he's always training, he doesn't attend campfire anymore...
Is he mad at something I did...? But I didn't do anything that could be bad! Today I'm going to talk to him and I'll find out why he's avoiding me.

I searched for him all day, and finally found him training. I waited until he finished to talk to him.
"Hey Nico!"
"What do you want Solace?"
"Tonight there's going to be shooting stars. Let's sneak out to watch them!"
"I don't feel like watching them."
"That wasn't a question. I'm telling you what I'm planning on doing tonight. I won our challenge to make you laugh, and that's what I want from you."
He sighed then started walking away.
"Fine..." he finally said.

At night, I went to Nico's cabin, and we went into the woods, in a place where we could see the sky clearly.
"When you see a shooting star you have to make a wish." I said.
"That's childish. Do you still believe it works?"
"I don't believe it works, but I like doing it anyways. It gives me more hope about my wish to become true."
He didn't look at me and kept looking at the sky.
"Nico. Why are you avoiding me?"
"I'm not."
"It has been one week. You're always training, you don't talk to me anymore and sometimes when I try talking to you, you act as if you didn't hear me."
He was silent for a moment, then he said:
"I had some dreams...and it scared me...not like a nightmare, but what I saw in them was...I don't know how to explain it...all I can do is tell you that I didn't mean to avoid you. I've just been thinking about those dreams a lot, and the only way for me to stop is to train."
I didn't know what to say. I accused Nico of avoiding me, and I didn't notice he was actually trying to avoid thinking about his dreams. I need to help him with that.
"Nico I'm sorry...I didn't know you-"
I got immediately cut off by him.
"Look! A shooting star!"
I looked at the sky and saw it, then I saw another, then another. It was amazing!
I put my hands together and made a wish.
I wish Nico could love me the same way I love him...
When I looked over to Nico, I saw him making a wish as well.
Later, we stopped seeing the shooting stars.
"Tomorrow there's a game of capture the flag. How about you join our team?" I asked Nico.
"I can't. Tomorrow morning I'm leaving camp with Jason. We're going to camp Jupiter. I think he'll spend a week there. But I'm going to go for a month. I haven't seen Hazel in a while."
Nico's leaving for a full month...? When I was about to protest, I looked next to me and saw that Nico already fell asleep. I laid him down and laid down next to him, falling asleep as well.

Next morning when I woke up, Nico wasn't there anymore. He couldn't have left already! I want to tell him goodbye! And this time I'll definitely tell him about my feelings!
I ran around camp to find him. I saw Jason so I asked him about it.
"Nico's waiting for me next to Thalia's tree. I just forgot something in my cabin. I'll take it then we'll leave."
I ran to where Nico should be. He had his back turned to me.
"Leaving without telling me goodbye?" I said.
He looked behind him surprised.
"You were still asleep."
I looked away, took a deep breath then I said:
"I'll miss you Nico..."
"You're acting as if I'm leaving forever."
"One month is too long! It would feel like forever."
I got closer to him.
"You're such a child."
"Nico...I'll miss you..."
I got even closer.
He took a deep breath then said:
"I'll miss you too Will..."
We got really close to each other. I looked at his lips. They were so close! I looked into his eyes, and noticed he was looking at my lips. He looked into my eyes and I've never seen that look on his face. It was like he wanted something really badly. He wrapped his arms around my neck and whispered my name. His hot breath hit my lips and the only thing I wanted to do was to kiss him. Time to do it...
"Nico I'm back! We can leave now!" yelled Jason.
Nico immediately got away from me. Jason doesn't seem to have noticed us almost kissing.
They left.
I went to the Aphrodite cabin.
"Piper I hate your boyfriend!"
"What did he do this time?"
I told her about what happened between Nico and I.
"OH MY GODS! I can't believe you two almost kissed! I want to know all the details! I'm definitely killing Jason when he comes back for interrupting you two!"
"Calm down Piper."
"I should be the one asking you how are you able to stay calm knowing that Nico actually loves you back."
I already knew it, but hearing her saying it made me feel weird. I smiled like a child and my face was probably redder than a tomato.

Nico's p.o.v.

"So...did Will and you kiss?"
I was a blushing mess. As soon as we left the camp I couldn't control my feelings anymore.
"No! And it's your fault!"
"Hey! I didn't know you two were about to kiss until I got close."
"If it wasn't for Hazel, I would've went back to camp right now to kiss Will."
"At least now you know he likes you back."
I couldn't stop the smile that was growing on my face.
"Yes I guess..."
