Chapter Four

{Asami's POV}

I got through the first day of training camp, luckily. Our training conductor went around asking everyone why they were there. Once he got to me I told him my reason and he said i'll be a service to humanity on my first mission but I'll most likely die. I don't know if he said that because I'm short or that I don't look that strong.

Anyways, it's time for dinner and I'm starving. I haven't made much friends here, so I wonder who I'm going to sit by... I sighed as I walked into the building. I already had eyes on me, I shifted out of uncomfortably and went to grabbed my food.

I looked down as I moved down the line. As soon as I got my food and turned around I was greeted by a boy with horse like features and blonde hair at the top and blackish brown undercut shaved kinda type of thing. "Would you like to sit with me?" he asked, his cheeks were a shade of red and I giggled. "sure" I smiled and followed him over to his table.

"what's your name? Mine is Jean" he said with a smile as I sat down next to him. "Asami." I said a bit quietly. "don't be shy Asami. I'm Reiner and this here is Bertolt" Reiner said as he placed his hand on his friends shoulder. Bertolt smiled awkwardly but I shrugged it off.

"So why did you decided to become a soldier?" a boy with freckles asked kindly. "well I decided I wanted to actually help humanity instead of sitting back pretending like nothing is out there and that I'm safe. The walls could go down any minute. The colossal titan could come back at anytime along with the armored titan. I can't just sit back and do nothing you know?"every ones eyes were on me and they looked a bit shocked.

"w-what?" I asked a bit sheepishly feeling my cheeks heat up. Jean was about to answer till our attention was turned to a boy with green eyes talking about titans. I watched as his hands shaked and his eyes filled with rage...

Jean then spoke but I didn't really pay attention. The only thing that caught my attention was someone saying he was from shiganshina. That means... He then got up and left followed by a girl with beautiful black hair.

Without thinking I quickly got up and chased after him. I grabbed his arm and he stopped in his tracks turning around towards me. "Weren't you sitting with horse face?" he asked kinda rudely. "Yeah... You're from shiganshina right? I was wondering if you could tell me about the titan attack that took place a few years ago?" I asked, his eyes widened and he nodded. I had only known rumors about it, not the full story.

His friend was giving me a death glare... Is that his girlfriend or something? I walked with him to his cabin and we sat on the top bunk. "Well for starters I'm eren and this is mikasa, my sister" he answered my question. "I'm Asami" I smiled but as soon as I finished my sentence a long blonde haired boy came running in.

"eren there you are" he said panting. "Hey armin come up here!" he called and the boy nodded. He took a few minutes to regain his breathing but then finally came up and sat next to me.

"When the colossal titan showed up five years ago..."

"wow I'm so sorry. It must've been hard huh? My father died from the fall of wall shiganshina." I said still dreading the memory. "he was a member of the garrison regiment. He was close to dot pixis." I finished my sentence as my chest felt heavy...

"I'm sorry to hear that." armin said and I just smiled. "It's alright, after all in a world like this mourning over deaths is pointless. You have to accept it and move on carrying their memories with you." I said and continued. "well I'm going to the girls cabin down, mikasa if you would like to come with me it's fine" I smiled at her. She simply nodded.
