"Ladies and Gentleman! Step right up! Behind this wall we will bedazzle you with fright! Fantasy! And eye bulging Magic!" This was a Circus. Not the kind you would take the Misses and kids, quite the opposite. The Midnight circus only came for one night before it disappeared with out a trace into the early morning. It was morbid, horrible and most of all, torturous. The color arrangement was deep creepy colors and the workers held the same vibe. Mysterious, weird and touchy. Half of the patrons came either drunk, drugged up or just plan bonkers. They threw around bottles, cursed profanity and tortured the freaks who had been forced to participate in this disgusting act of 'work'.

"Come one come all! See her for yourself! Ms. Jekyll and Hyde! The beast of all beasts, the horrifying frenzied animal! Oh, but don't touch wouldn't want you to miss a finger!" The ringmaster in his usual dirty garb that resembled a knock off pirate staggered forward throwing his hands about wildly possibly drunk. I struggled in the tiny confinement. They built a bird cage of sorts, modified to keep me from breaking out. My knees pressed tightly to my chest sending pains if I moved the slightest. People stared unbelieving at this ordinary tiny girl crunched up in a heavy steel cage. However, they didn't say anything concerning the fact of a kidnapped female. "HELP! OH PLEASE YOU HAVE TO HELP ME! THESE PEOPLE ARE CRAZY!" I gripped at the bars bellowing into the chattering crowed. The Ringmaster laughed maniacally, "Lies! She is the master of persuasion! Don't go any closer than-" a male stepped forward his face twisted in a demonic frenzy.
"She's just a pretty bitch!" He stepped further up the ramp as he went his legs were on the brink of collapsing. "Sir, I wouldn't-" the drunken man turned around briskly giving the man daggers before continuing. He stepped onto the platform where my cage dangled and proceeded to poke and prod at my thin body. "She ain't anything special! She's just a druggie!"  I tired my best to scrunch back into the tiny space but I couldn't get far enough away. The inebriated man took a long swig from the brown bottle in his hand swallowing the rest of the vile smelling liquid. "See watch she won't do anything!" He grabbed the neck of the bottle and threw it through the air. I covered my eyes so the glass wouldn't blind me but that didn't help with it sticking into the rest of my beaten body. With a shrill shriek and the dulling pain I slipped effortlessly into the intoxicating darkness. I didn't know why I went here or why people were dead when I woke up but all that I knew was, she kept me safe. "Do you remember? Do you remember the fun we had here?" The scratchy voice sliced through the raging waves. "He hurt us, but I brought him so much more" the more the thing talked the more I didn't want to listen. It became revolting and angry sending cringes down my spine.

While Rowena was secluded to Jekyll's dominant euphoria the people around her in the real world stood silent. An unnerving silent. Even the drunken bully stood mouth agape at the growling female. It was like a heavy mist settled in the crowd, dark and foreboding. No one dared to speak one word even the Ringmaster who usually did not stop talking. Rowena's growl grew louder and louder till it was all they heard. Then the unexpected happened, she twisted in the small confinement and stuck her thin legs to press up against the opening. BAM! The cage door came flying off the hinges sending the crowd to jump and some to squeal like baby piglets. The Ringmaster was thrown from his terror ridden state of horror as he was now trying to grab Rowena from bellow the platform.  She did not pay attention to him, she was all eyes on that dreadful man. He took each step back mirroring her advancing slow form. She liked seeing the delectable fear that swam in their eyes before she pounced like a lionesses devouring her prey.  "Get away From me you FREAK!" Rowena stopped and cocked her head to the side. A sickening grin spread across her lips. The kind of smile where a person knew something the other didn't, but it was twisted, crazy. Rowena leapt onto the man with all her force. She didn't tear into his flesh like some would've thought but she held tightly to his throat. She clenched and fastened her fists tighter, and tighter. His strangled cries turned to gasps as the stages of asphyxiation set in. He wasn't dying fast enough or maybe she was getting bored who knows but Rowena then proceeded to slam his head onto the platform ground. Again and again she fiercely pounded his skull into the ground. With each thump the crowd shuttered with disgust as the cracking of bone echoed amongst each human there. Intently, she watched the life slow but sweet leave his eyes. She let go of the hunk of meat abandoning him to raise to her full hight. Rowena was caged for so long that her body cracked and grated against unused muscle. It was painful to hear but mostly agonizing for Rowena who if was in control would collapse to the ground in aching torture.
"I helped you, rescued you, but most importantly I tainted your blinding white light" the erie voice cackled in the dark abyss, the laugh sent shivers down my back making me burst upright from the sweaty blankets. That laugh was burnt into my memory now and forever. The sudden shift woke Thomas up making him look at me in disbelief. He spent no time as he threw the blankets off my body and proceeded to check me from head to toe. "What Thomas? It was just a bad dream" I told him confused as he took my face in his gigantic hand and turned it from side to side examining my face. "Thomas, really I'm fine" I placed my small pale hand over his as I gave him a reassuring smile. Are you sure your fine? Really? I jumped out of my skin,  "Thomas! Did you hear that" I stared wide awake around the room. It was dark and the moonlight didn't reach much but it was only us two. As I would've thought he shook his head with a small grunt that resembled 'uh-uh'. Thomas was worried now, she had been in that...zoned out state for days. He thought it would have blown over in a day but Thomas was used to this life she wasn't. He had to remember that.
I knew that voice, the same one from my dreams. I got up from Thomas's enclosed arms to get dressed. Then everything hit me, slammed me in the back of the head. The reason I don't have 'my' clothes is because..they are soaked in her blood. I smashed her head in, I killed her in cold blood. I didn't care how I fell, I crumpled to the ground legs curled up against me weeping into my arms. "Thomas! I killed her, I killed her, why didn't you stop me!" I screamed in my crossed arms. It was so silent I had guessed he went back to bed to let me cry a river of dread and grief. I was wrong, I shuddered when Thomas placed his hands under my arms pits and pick me up like a child. He hoisted me back onto the bed and gently tucked me close to him. I was baffled. He didn't need to talk, his actions did it for him. I didn't squirm or scream, I let him wrap his arms around my torso and pull me firmly against Thomas's warm body. Do you know my name? Have you forgotten that to? The comfort drained away shortly after hearing the bone chilling voice. Lost your voice? Let me answer it for you, I'm Jekyll and your my Hyde as always. Silent tears teemed down my face, I need to get out of here. The maniacal laughing died as sleep lulled me to close my eyes.

You think your safe? You think I will just go away if you leave? You made ME, I'm not going anywhere.
