Sunlight streamed through the window as Yoongi lightly snored beside Abby, mere inches in between the two. Abby awoken to the beautiful face of her love and savior, quickly retracting her body from his. The brunette admired the man in front of her for as long as she could allow, before slipping out from under the white duvet that covered them both. She slipped on her grey slippers that she always kept at Yoongi's place then made her way to the kitchen, preparing to make breakfast in bed for her love.
Abby spun around in circles as she hummed an old song of Yoongi's and shook her hips as she glided through the kitchen. Her slippers scraped against the floor as she danced while making Yoongi's breakfast. The girl drizzled syrup onto the French toast and poured the freshly brewed coffee she had made into a starred mug.
Abby laid the tray of food on the night stand beside Yoongi, before gently shaking him awake. The elder grumbled in protest, but slowly turned towards the girl. He rubbed his eyes and cutely scrunched his nose, attempting to adjust to the sunlight.
"I made you breakfast, thought it would help with the hangover," Abby said.
"Thanks Abby," Yoongi replied.
"No problem Yoongs, anything for you."
The blonde haired man hummed in response and took the tray off the nightstand.
"So yuh wanna tell me what haffened on your date wiff Jason?" Yoongi tried to say while he chewed his food.
"Uh, sure I guess. So we went ice skating and get this," Abby paused. "Jackson can't skate at all, oh my god it was so bad."
"Why'd he take you ice skating then?" Questioned Yoongi.
"EXACTLY! Jackson is such a dork," the brunette said as she smiled to herself.
Yoongi basked in the glimmer of the girls eyes, not used to seeing her so happy.
"Then after repeatedly breaking our faces, we went sledding and all the kids thought we were weird. You should've seen the way they looked at us Yoongs! After that we went to a diner to get some grub and then I came home and got a call from that girl. Who was she?"
"Grub? So you call food grub now?" Yoongi said, completely ignoring the latters question.
"Oh god, Jackson said that. It's so lame, never let me say that again okay?"
"Okay," Yoongi promised.
"So do ya wanna watch a movie or something?" Abby questioned.
"I'm still a little hungover actually, I think I'll just sleep it off. Did you make yourself anything to eat? You have to take care of yourself Abby."
"I'm fine Yoongi, no need to worry. I'll just stay here, we can watch a movie when you wake up right?" Abby asked as she looked at the ground, avoiding the elders eyes.
Yoongi knew it wasn't a good idea. He knew why she wanted to stay, but after all he put her through, he felt that he owed her this. It was just two friends hanging out, that's all it's ever been.
Abby laid down beside Yoongi as he looked back at her before softly shutting his eyes and falling into a deep slumber. Abby smiled at how quickly the man could fall asleep then reached her hand out to softly brush his face. She used the back of her fingers to brush against his slightly chubby cheeks, then lightly ran her fingers through his hair.
After a while of admiring the man, Abby too fell asleep. She was only awoken when she felt a pillow hit her head.
"What happened!" She exclaimed as she lifted her head up and opened one eye.
Yoongi laughed at the appearance of the younger then strolled into the room carrying popcorn and two cokes.
"Figured we'd need some snacks for the movie."
"Snacks are the best part Yoongs.. WAIT WHERE IS THE-"
"Ramen? The ramen in still cooking Abby," Yoongi grinned.
"Oh god Yoongi I love you," Abby admitted.
An awkward silence hung in the air, neither young adult wanting to process the words that had slipped from the girls lips. It was as if a meteor had just crashed into their world, altering their relationship forever.
"I love you too Abby," Yoongi replied.
Yoongi looked completely unaffected by the intimate words exchanged by the two. The three words Abby has always longed to hear, ultimately losing their value. She knew he felt strongly for her, but it was never in the way she wanted. It seemed that Yoongi would stay true to the words he said that night.
I can't love you because I don't love myself.
What hurt the girl the most was that Yoongi promised to try. He swore that he would try to love himself so that he could love Abby, but all he has done was push her into the arms of another man. Abby laughed at the irony, then leaned back so she was resting on the headboard of Yoongi's bed.
"Well let's go ahead and start the movie, we can wait for the ramen," Abby suggested.
"Wow you've changed. Waiting on ramen, grub? I'm one-hundred-percent sure those words were not even in your vocabulary until yesterday," Yoongi joked.
"I dunno what's happening to me either. I guess I'm going through some Changes by Cameron Philip. Stream that issa bop."
Yoongi laughed at the brunette and started the movie. The rest of the day was filled with comfort and bliss as the two best friends did nothing but enjoy their day together. That was until Yoongi got a call from an unknown number. He scrambled to pick up his phone, put down his food, and avoid choking on his coke before actually answering his phone. His nervous state made Abby feel uneasy as she chewed on her bottom lip, her hands fidgeting with the hem of her shirt.
"Um is this Eunji?" Yoongi questioned the person who had called him.
Abby dreaded listening to the entirety of the phone call without hearing what Eunji was saying. She could only piece together what the two were discussing, and she had hoped that she was very bad at doing so.
"Yeah I'm doing okay now, thanks for what you did last night, I'm sorry for being such a bother."
Yoongi was silent for a few seconds, once again stopping to listen to the sweet and seductive voice of Eunji.
"Oh no trust me you did more than enough, I don't know what I would have did if you didn't call Abby. I would've been at that bar all night. Yeah we could meet up sometime I'm down. Is it cool if I bring a plus one?" Yoongi inquired.
"Oh well what about another time? Yeah it's fine, I understand, bye," Yoongi stated before hanging up. "It was that girl from the bar, I figured you would want to meet her, we knew each other a while back, when we lived in Daegu. She was my best friend. Figured she would want to meet my upgragde."
The two stared at each other lovingly, before Yoongi jumped onto the bed beside Abby. Yoongi looked past the girl, focusing his attention to the city lights that shone down into his bedroom. He became entranced by the lights as he remembered the night he first met the girl. Because of that encounter, the night had become his favorite time of day.
"I've really got the best view," he said in awe, causing Abby to blush .
Actually I do, she thought.
