I played every part of every song that was for Ricky. The fans looked a bit confused at first, but Chris explained after the 3rd song why I'm playing for him. I think a lot of the fans like me playing guitar for Ricky. I also sang parts of songs with Chris when I wasn't head banging with the crowd and everything else.
The show ended faster than I thought. We went back to the bus and got hydrated and such before heading to the signing. Jack and Alex on my heels, Josh on my right, and Chris on the left. Ricky demanding on coming so he's in front of me. "Just don't cough in anyone's face and don't take your gloves off." I said, rubbing his shoulders. "I know I know. I'm not a child, Jasey." He said with a small laugh. "I know you're not. But sometimes you can be." I said jokingly.
The guys sat down in their chairs, I sat in Josh's lap, Alex and Jack standing behind us. Fans came up and asked questions about us and when the wedding was and such.
"You play guitar so much better than Rick, you should take his place." Some fan girl said. "I could never do that. I appreciate the compliment, but Ricky will never be replaced. And I will never do that to him." I said as I signed a picture that another girl asked me to sign. "Wow, don't have to get mean about it." That person mumbled under their breath. I didn't say anything else, just continued signing things that I was asked of and smiled at others.
"Can I ask you something, Jasey?" A girl maybe 16 asked. "Of course, sweetie. What is it?" I said, looking up at her. "Are you and Josh gonna have kids?" She asked. I was a little shocked by the question, as well as everyone else around us. "We haven't thought about it that much. We've been so busy with the band, and we're working on new stuff for all of you fans. But I'm sure at some point in our lives we will." Josh answered with a kind smile, saving me from an answer I didn't really have. He snuck a kiss to the back of my neck as the girl began to talk again. "I only asked because I think you two would have such cute children. Thank you for signing my poster and cd!" She said and continued through the line. "That was unexpected." I said. "Yeah it was. But we can talk about it when we're done with the signing. Promise." Josh said as he kissed me before signing another poster. "Good because I wanna know if I'm gonna be an uncle." Chris stated from the other end of the table. "So do the rest of us." Ricky added. I could feel my cheeks flush with heat.
I do want kids. I just don't know how any of it will happen since we're always so busy with touring and studio time. I want Chris to be an uncle. I want all the guys to be uncles. I wanna be a mom.
-On the bus-
I sat down in the back lounge and took out my sketch book, beginning to draw whatever intricate design that came to mind. Josh walked in before Jack or Alex do and closed the door behind him, sitting down beside me. "So how about we talk about what happened earlier?" He asked, his hands sliding around my stomach, pulling me closer to him. I put my pencil down and leaned back against his chest. "What do you think?" He asked. "I think I wanna be a mom, Josh. There's just been no time to actually try. We've been so busy with new music and touring, I don't see how we could find the time to have a child on the way." I said. "You do realize that it's gonna take awhile for the new album to get made. After this tour we are focusing on making the album. Which could take a whole year. Which would give us that time. Not every day will be in the studio. I can promise that. I'm sure if we told Chris what our plans were, he would drop the new album priority to put our child first. I want to be a dad, Jase. I want to make it happen. We can wait until after the wedding even." He said, kissing my head. "I'm not having sex on the bus anyways, so it'll have to wait, dork." I said with a laugh. "There's that laugh of yours. I've missed it." He said, I could hear the smile on his face. "So that's it then? Baby making after the wedding?" He asked. "If that's what you wanna call it, then yes." I laughed. "Yay!" He said excitedly. "How I see it..." I began. "Yeah?" He asked. "There's only one person in this world that I would ever want to be the father of my children." I said, looking up at him. "And who's that?" He asked, his eyes looking into mine. "His name is Joshua Balz. And I'm marrying that guy when this your is over in 2 months." I said, a smile prying at the corners of my mouth. "Hey! That's my name!" He said in a mock tone. "Because it is you, dumb ass." I laughed, poking his ribs. "I know I know. I was trying to be funny." He said.
We talked for a little while longer before Alex and Jack claimed me for a few hours.
"Alright, now that we finally have you to ourselves, what do you wanna do?" Jack asked. He sat down on my right and Alex on my left, I leaned my head onto Jack's shoulder and draped my legs across Alex's lap. "Can we just watch movies? I'm exhausted." I asked, my eyes closed but I'm not asleep. "If you can stay awake, yes." Jack joked. "I'll do my best to stay awake for the good movies." I said. I knew Jack had a big smile on his face because of the quiet laugh he made. "I promise to stay awake for the first Home Alone." I said with a smile on my face. "Yay!" He cheered and clapped. "You're so fuckin stupid, Jack." Alex stated. "Hey! You don't talk to my Jack like that! You're just as stupid!" I said, hugging Jack protectively as well as jokingly.
We all talked and laughed and had a bunch of fun. I've missed Alex and Jack. But being around them, makes me miss Tony. My Turtle. Which brought my old down a lot so I went and sat down.
"Jass, you alright?" Jack asked, sitting next to me. Alex on the other side. "Is Pierce The Veil on tour right now?" I asked. "Uh, no. I don't think so. Why?" Alex answered. "I'll be right back." I said and got up, leaving the bus after making sure that it was still parked somewhere.
I took my phone from my pocket and tapped the number 1 on my phone for my speed dial.
Tony.
