Chad sighed and shoved his books into his locker, not paying attention to the loud slams they created. He was currently skipping Mrs. Darb's class. He couldn't deal with the constant glances his friends would give him. At first, he appreciated the concern. But now, he was over it since they were so convinced he was "heartbroken." Maybe he could ask Taylor to help him clear everything up.

He sat down with his back pressed against a locker and  pulled out his phone. He was about to text her until sudden realization hit him. You can't text her, dumbass. She's in class. The class you're currently skipping. Chad groaned and put his phone back in his pocket and bowed his head. Well, he had a whole hour until class was over. What was he gonna do for an hour?

"Hey."

Fuck.

Chad looked up and felt that feeling again. Standing right next to him was Ryan. Ryan smiled at him before taking a seat next to Chad. Chad swallowed, feeling suddenly nervous.

"You okay?" Ryan asked, looking at him. Chad nodded and shrugged, praying that he didn't lose his cool.

"Yeah, why?" He replied, glancing at the boy. He took a second to quickly observe and admire Ryan's features. His bright blue eyes and messy blonde hair. The way his face was slightly babyish but still angular at the same time. And then there was that damn smile of his. Ryan shrugged and leaned back against the lockers.

"I heard about your breakup," he replied. Chad nodded and mumbled a quiet "oh." It was quiet for a while until Ryan spoke up.

"So, you're skipping?" He asked, glancing at Chad. Chad scoffed and chuckled.

"No, I'm skydiving," he replied then quickly panicked. He glanced at Ryan, hoping that he wouldn't take it as Chad being rude. Luckily, Ryan was chuckling.

"Well, I should've expected that," he said. "Shouldn't have thought I'd get a non-sarcastic remark from the Chad Danforth." Chad smiled and chuckled too.

"It is a rarity. And yes, I'm skipping. You?" Ryan nodded and absentmindedly played with his shoe strings.  Chad let out a mock gasp and stared at Ryan in awe. "What? The Ryan Evans skipping his favorite class? Unbelievable! Impossible! It can't be!" This caused the both of them to burst out laughing. Ryan smirked and shrugged.

"Me and Sharpay had an argument and I really didn't feel like staring at the back of her head for an hour." He said and Chad nodded.

"I know the feeling. For some reason the guys think it's impossible for a couple to break up and be perfectly fine afterwards," he said, pulling out his phone to check the time.

"Are you perfectly fine?" Ryan asked and looked at him. Chad nodded and shoved his phone back into his pocket.

"Yeah. I mean, I was sad for a second, but then I got over it," Ryan raised an eyebrow at this and frowned but didn't comment.

"Hey, uh, what time is it?" Ryan asked after another moment of silence. Chad shrugged and stared down at the floor.

"Maybe, 2:30 by now," he replied.(I have no idea when they're classes are so work with me here. I'm saying it's 2:30 because in the second movie school end's after her class so I'm reaching here.)

"Oh, great, we have time," Ryan said, rising from the floor. Chad looked up at him, confused.

"Time for what?" He asked, rising to his feet as well.

"Um, maybe get something to eat?" Ryan suggested. Chad nodded, smiling.

"That's fine. I didn't eat during lunch."

"I got so caught up arguing with Sharpay that I barely did," Ryan replied, smiling as well. "And luckily she forgot to get her keys back," he said pulling the keys from his pocket. Chad smirked at this as he felt himself growing hungrier by the second. "You ready?"

"Yeah, lead the way, golden boy," he said, smirking. He paused, feeling his face flush as he realized what he just said. Ryan turned and raised an eyebrow at him as he grinned. "That, uh, slipped. My bad," he quickly apologized. Ryan chuckled and shook his head.

"It's fine. You're not the first to call me that, anyways," he said. Chad nodded and let out a sigh, glad that he hadn't offended him. He followed after Ryan out the doors of the school and out to the parking lot.
