Chad was positive that if Taylor knew how to commit murder and get away with it, she would have killed him then and there in front of the pool.
"Chad you have got to be the dumbest guy I've ever known," she groaned. Chad tilted his head as he feigned a hurt look.
"Ouch"
"Oh, hush. You deserve it," she sighed, sitting down in one of the pool chairs. Chad grabbed one and moved it closer to Taylor before sitting down as well.
"Yeah you're probably right about that one," he mumbled leaning forwards and propping his elbows on his knees.
"Not probably, definitely. How could you possibly manage to pass up the chance to kiss him? It would've been perfect! A starry night, a cool breeze, no one else up there," she stated, putting heavy emphasis on the latter.
"I get it, Tay, alright? I screwed up. And he probably hates me for it," Chad huffed and ran his fingers through his hair as Taylor sighed and rubbed his back.
"Calm down, okay? I doubt he hates you. You just need to talk to him about what happened, and maybe, oh I don't know, finish it off with a kiss this time so you're both happy?" She raised her eyebrows suggestively at him and Chad chuckled as he shook his head.
"Yeah right. That'll be the day. It's a miracle I didn't pass out when I just thought about kissing him."
"Well did Ryan - Jason!" Taylor's head turned away from Chad as he also looked to where her eyes had averted, fear and panic rising inside of him as he saw Jason standing there.
He stood a couple of feet behind them and judging by the look on his face, it was obvious he had heard enough. Chad shot to his feet with Taylor following suite. Jason's mouth opened and closed a few times before he settled for setting the towels he held down on a table.
"Fulton..told me to, uh, bring out a couple and...I'm gonna go," he quickly turned around and started heading back towards the kitchen. Chad glanced over at Taylor who also wore a look of complete shock. She quickly motioned for him to follow Jason as she gently pushed him.
Chad tried not to full on sprint after Jason as he caught up to him in the corridor leading towards the kitchen.
"Jason, wait-" he cried, grabbing the boy by his shoulders. Jason spun around to look at him, his eyes holding a look of pure shock. But, that didn't matter. What mattered was making sure Jason didn't go run off to tell everybody what he had just heard. Well, maybe not everyone, but enough people that would make Chad seriously consider running away and starting a new life.
"About what you heard, man, it's not what you think-"
"Well hello, Mr. Danforth. Slacking and being a distraction as always I presume." Chad froze as Fulton's voice seemed to cut right through him. The man walked past Chad so that he was now facing both boys, a sick "I got you" grin on his face as he leered at Jason. "And you, Mr. Cross it seems I was wrong to expect better. Now, both of you get back to work," he sneered as he turned and made his way towards the lobby.
Jason glanced over at Chad for a second before quickly heading into the kitchen. Chad frowned as he sighed and reluctantly headed back to his station.

When Chad got the text later, he had to take deep breaths to make sure he didn't throw up. It was a simple 'can we talk?' from Jason, but it honestly made Chad feel so nervous that he was surprised he wasn't shaking. He texted back for him to come over even though he really didn't want to. God knows what Jason thinks of him now, or what everyone thinks of him.
