Train to a New Life

They are meeting on the train not in a class. Deal with it.

John walked through the crowded train slowly, looking for a booth that wasn't filled to the brim with other students. At the very back of the train he found a booth with only two other boys in it. He knocked on the frame of the booth door and both heads snapped to him. 

"I'm sorry, mind if I sit with you?" John asked the boys

The younger looking one opened his mouth but the older quickly said "You may sit with us"

John awkwardly slipped into the booth, put his bags and rat, Hamish, on the shelf abve the seats, and sat next to the younger boy. He had curly, dark hair and eyes that were blue and green and gold all at the same time. The boy also had very sharp cheekbones and light pink lips.

"I'm John. John Watson" John said, hoping to get to know this boy

"I'm Mycroft Holmes and that is my younger brother, Sherlock. I am in the Slytherin and my brother is a first-year, like yourself. He will either be in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. You will either be Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. Tell the hat Gryffindor." The older brother said

John was a bit suprised but simply said "Well, thank you, and it's nice to meet you both"

John then shook Mycroft's and Sherlock's hands before asking "How do you know I'll be Gryffindor or Hufflepuff?"

"He deduced it" Sherlock said and it was the first thing he has said since John entered the booth

Right before John could ask what deducing was, a boy with medium length brown hair was walking by and stopped in front of the booth

"Oy, Mycroft, there you are. Come on and sit with me" He said and Mycroft sighed

"My mates and I bought half the treat cart" The boy added and Mycroft stood up

"Fine, I'll sit with you. John, I know we've just met and this will sound odd, but do try not to punch Sherlock" Mycroft said as he grabbed his bags, umbrella, and owl before leaving.

There was a moment of silence before John asked "Sherlock, what's deducing?"

"It is things that you can tell about people by obsevring them" Sherlock said and John nodded his head in understanding

"Could you deduce more then Houses?" John asked curiously

"I could deduce almost anything about someone. For example, I deduce that your father is in the army and when he's home he is a drunk, your mother is abusive on occasion, and you haven't talked to your sister in a long time. That's because she got into drugs and is a lesbian so your parents disowned her. Also, you're a mudblood" Sherlock says monotoned

"That- that was amazing!" John said in disbelief that Sherlock could observe that much

"R-Really?" A suprised Sherlock asked

"Yep, that was amazing, fantastic" John said nodding his head slowly

"That isn't what people usually say"

"Well what do the usually say?"

"Bugger off"

I was gonna quote then I remembered they're eleven

After a few quiet seconds they both started giggling. Neither really completely sure why
