Johnlock Potter!lock AU

First Year (Like halfway through it)

"Hello John" Sherlock said as his best friend sat dow next to him. The pair have been attached by the hip ever since the train months before when they first met

"Hey Sherlock" John said as he placed his textbook for potions out in front of him along with his notebook

"We are going to have a substitute teacher today, you won't need your books" Sherlock said

"Really? Cool!" John said with a large grin an Sherlock smiled very slightly at him

"Oh and Sherlock?" John asked

"Yes John?" Sherlock says meeting John's eyes

"Did you really think I'd forget?"

Sherlock sighed loudly and said "No but I'd hoped you did"

John pulls a wrapped box out of his bag and hands it to Sherlock and said "Happy Birthday!"

Sherlock sighed again and rolled his eyes. He looked at the box then shook it. He knew what John had got him. And he was actually surprized.

Sherlock opened the box to reveal an Extendable Ear from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. The owner, George Weasley, origanally opened it with his brother twin brother, Fred, who died in the Battle of Hogwarts twenty years ago.

"You remembered I wanted this?" Sherlock said in shock still. He pointed it out to John once as they walked past the store, but didn't think John would remember.

"Of couse I did!" John said and his grin grew bigger

"Thank you John. Thank you so much!" Sherlock said grinning at the gift, then his friend. His best friend. His only friend.

Sherlock put the gift away. It was the only one he'd gotten exept from his parents and Mycroft and a card from Mycroft's friend Lestrade. George? Graham? Gary? He didn't know. Lestrade's first name was something with a 'G'.

"Is the teacher lost or something?" John asked, looking at the door

"Most likely" Sherlock replied

"Do you want to see something? Muggles do it but I don't know if wizards do" John asked with slight excitement that Sherlock couldn't say no to

"Alright, what is it?" Sherlock asked. John didn't reply. He just pulled out a held it under his nose. Then he curved his top lip up and let go of the pencil and it balanced there. Sherlock laughed and John smiled, but it caused the pencil to fall.

"You messed me up!" John laughed accusingly at Sherlock and Sherlock just laughed in reply.

"Wizards don't do that but do you want to see something they do?" Sherlock asked. He didn't wait for John to reply, knowing the answer would be yes. Sherlock took the pencil from John and took out his wand. Sherlock whispered a small spell and the pencil turned into a small snake. The snake slithered up Sherlock's arm and curled up in his hair. Sherlock was surprised and annoyed and angry. He tried to get the snake out of his hair but he couldn't see it and it was snapping at his hands. John doubled over laughing and after a moment, managed to get the snake from Sherlock's curly dark hair. Sherlock turned it back into a pencil and returned it to John

"How'd you know that spell?" John asked

"Yes, technically I'm not supposed to know that spell yet but sometimes I read spell books when I'm bored" Sherlock replied

"You're really smart" John said without meaning to

"T-Thank you, John" Sherlock said while blushing. No one ever compliments him. Except for his parents of course but they had to. John was always nice to Sherlock and stood up for him if other kids were teasing him. He really liked John. A lot.
