I'm back, it must be the apocalypse

John couldn't wait to see Sherlock again. His mother heard a boy ask him out once and let's just say John wasn't allowed to have friends over. Ever. He's planning on moving in with Harry after he finishes this year. How have they not disowned me yet? John muses to himself. He has other things on his mind for now, specifically a certain person. It'd been months since he'd seen Sherlock and he was so excited. As soon as John spotted him he ran straight towards Sherlock. Only calling 'Sherlock' just before hugging his friend tightly.

"It's good to see you again too" Sherlock said with a slight chuckle as he hugged his best friend back. John gave him a pat on the back as he let go of Sherlock to make it seem more friendly

"How was your summer, John?" Sherlock asked, as if he hadn't been either texting or John all summer long

"It was boring without you there my friend" John says and pats Sherlock's shoulder, Stop patting him John scolded himself internally.
"How was yours?" John asked

"It was fairly bland without you as well" Sherlock replies with a small smile.

The boys sit together in a booth towards the back of the train. The booth where this all began and they first met. John was happy to be back in the same both where he met Sherlock and first saw Hogwarts. It was almost nostalgic for him.

After the boys loaded in their bags and trunks, they sat facing each other on the opposite benches and the train left soon after.

"This was the booth" John says absentmindedly, looking around the small space

"If you are referring to the both in which we met, then yes, yes it is" Sherlock says

"Hey Sherlock?" John asked, he was nervous and fidgety and he knew Sherlock knew without a doubt "Why haven't you ever been on a date?"

Sherlock tensed immediately before trying to regain his composure "I've simply been more focused on my studies and experiments" Sherlock lied, and John could tell. He's been best friends with Sherlock to pick up on some deductive skills. Especially when the person to deduce was Sherlock, even if there were still a lot of unknowns when it came to him.

"What's the real reason?" John asked, looking out the window, not thinking he'd be able to even look at Sherlock right now "I know you've be asked out plenty of times, and by some smart, handsome blokes too. But you always say no"

Sherlock was unsure how to answer, not prepared for John pressing the matter. Sherlock opened and closed his mouth several times whilst trying to form a response.

"Do you love me?" John inquires after a moment. Sherlock was stunned, surely he wasn't being that obvious about it that John would know. Of course you bloody were he hears Mycroft's voice say in his head Shut up! Sherlock mentally replies

"Sherlock?" John asked again, bringing Sherlock back to the real world "You do, don't you?" John says, now looking directly at Sherlock, but Sherlock can't meet John's eyes. He ducts his head and quietly says "Yes"

Sherlock waits for John's rejection, for him to leave, for him to do something. Sherlock doesn't even consider John loving him back, or having any feelings of the type to him. Because why would this popular, kind, funny, and fantastic person like John care for the freak? But then John says two words that manage to shock Sherlock

"Thank God" is what John breathed out, then he moved to sit next to Sherlock and kissed him softly and quickly. Sherlock is surprised to say the least, which is something no one thought they'd ever see. John actually laughs a bit.

"Have I managed to shock the great Sherlock Holmes? Shall I alert the media?" John teases but Sherlock shows no amusement on his face

"John" Sherlock says seriously. Bringing a heavier air between the two other them. The boys look into each other's eyes for a moment before Sherlock continues "You love me too"

"That'd be correct" John said, eyes flickering down to Sherlock's lips as he subconsciously moves closer to the Ravenclaw. The pair share another slow, gentle kiss which lasts until they are interrupted by a familiar voice from behind them saying "It's about bloody time" the pair pull apart to see Lestrade leaning against the doorframe of the younger boys booth.

"Oi, piss off Greg" John said warmly and jokingly, unable to keep a smile off his face

"Greg?" Sherlock said, confused. And John just chuckled and put his head on Sherlock's shoulder as he did so. Sherlock looked at John fondly and smiled
