Allison handed out coffee to everyone else. "Three days?"
"That's what Five said," Luther confirmed from in front of the bar.
As soon as Luther had come in, Diego had taken his hand out of mine. Rude. I guess he didn't think that half of the family already knew about our feelings. We were discussing the topic Five had brought to our attention multiple times; our impending doom.
Klaus chimed in. "The old bastard did mention the apocalypse, come to think of it. He just left out the part about how soon."
"No, he didn't," I mumbled underneath my breath. "You just wanted your twenty dollars."
He gave me a joking glare from his spot on the floor. I shrugged; it was true.
"But can we trust him? I don't know if you've noticed, but Five's a little." Allison whistled.
Chuckling Klaus said, "Our little psycho."
"He was pretty convincing," continued Luther. "If he wasn't trying to stop an apocalypse, those two lunatics wouldn't be chasing him."
Diego's attention was grabbed. "That's why they were after him?"
I rubbed the stitches on my chest. Wow, what was it with them and wanting to kill people. I mean, no better way to get rid of targets than destroy the entire planet, am I right? Luther nodded before saying yeah.
"What did Five even see?" Still curious, Allison was desperate for answers.
Luther stared at her before finding something to say. "Uh. . . Apparently, we all fought together against whoever was responsible." He seemed unsure of his answer and paused before walking to the center of the room. "Okay. So, here's the plan. Uh, we go through Dad's research—"
"Wait, what?" "Hold on, hold on." "What a tick, wait a tick, wait a tick" Everyone broke out into confusion. It was evident Luther wasn't explaining the most significant part of what was to come.
"What actually happened the first time around?" Klaus asked.
Diego wanted to know too. "Yeah, what are you not tellin' us? Come on, big boy, spit it out."
Gazing down at his coffee, there were a few moments of silence. Luther sighed before whispering, "We died."
Allison didn't hear. "What was that?"
He coughed. "I said, uh, we died."
The rest of the family stared with wide eyes while I laughed and took a sip of my coffee. Diego looked at me like I was crazy, and so I did the same to him. What did they think apocalypse meant? Every book I've ever read about apocalypses whether zombie or otherwise have always lead to the extinction of humankind. Why would this one be any different? Just then, the umbrella that was hanging on the mini coat rack fell startling Klaus.
"Just now, you're telling us this?" Diego exclaimed.
"Well, Five probably would have said something, or already had a plan, but he disappeared so. . ." Luther scratched his head and walked back to the bar.
"No, we need to figure this out."
We all followed Luther. Klaus found an uneaten breakfast sandwich and claimed it as his own. I looked inside of a paper bag to find a croissant. Now it was my croissant. The discussion continued, and Allison finally brought up an important question.
