Light desired by all,
Flickers and dims,
And yet the unfavourable darkness,
Remains forever firm.
In those moonless nights,
Dark will always overcome the light.
Blood on your hands will stain deeper
Even when that blood is yours.
In your naivety to save all,
You sacrifice yourself without a thought.
Disregard as you may,
But the war will continue even after.
Struggling to live,
Denying the peaceful death,
Fighting for the air in your lungs,
You live for the past that is already gone.
Blood seeps through your white robe,
Still you stand against the dark.
Trying to save them from the impending death,
Even as you barely can open your eyes.
After all you've been through,
After seeing what is true,
Still you choose to believe,
There's hope and someone guiding you.
Surrender, give up, give in,
Lay down, take a breath.
Let the darkness overcome.
Let death take what's rightfully its.
Draw in one last breath,
Erase all the hurt you felt before,
