"Jack?" Anna asked puzzled when he knocked on the door a half an hour later. "I need to see Elsa." He said. Anna shrugged and let him in. "She's upstairs in her room. I doubt she'll let you in though." Jack rushed up the stairs and knocked on the door. "Go away Anna." Jack opened the door to see Elsa sitting on the floor of her room, still dressed in her prom dress which was spread around her like a flower. Her makeup had already been taken off, and she was crying into a tissue. "Elsa?" "Jack? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Scarlett?" Jack shook his head. "She's a bitch. I've seen how she treats you. Why are you crying?" "My date stood me up. If you don't like Scarlett then why?" Elsa asked. "Because... Jamie dared me to." "How am I not surprised? Does Jamie dictate your life or something? I guess it's in your nature to take a challenge, even if it's stupid." Elsa asked, getting up. She was about to leave when Jack scrabbled off the floor and grabbed her wrist. "Wait, Elsa, please." Elsa glared at him. "What do you want? Can't you just leave me alone?" Jack shook his head. "I promised Jamie..." "Is everything you do dependent on him?" Elsa asked. Jack brought a finger to her lips. Elsa tore his hand away, annoyed. "I promised Jamie I would show up with the prettiest girl in school." "Well you did. That was Scarlett. Now leave me alone." She tried to pull away from Jack's hold but he wrapped his hand firmly around her wrist. "Elsa... I was supposed to go to prom with the prettiest girl at school and have the best night of my life... Yet I wasn't happy. I knew that I was supposed to be having fun, but I couldn't help but think I made a mistake. So I ditched Scarlett and came here." "You ditched her and came here?" Elsa asked, bewildered. Jack grabbed the back of his neck. "Uhhh.... No... She was busy doing.... something else. So I decided to leave." Elsa stared at him. "But why here? Why me?" Elsa asked, her voice soft. "Because you're the prettiest girl in school. I went with the wrong person, and it didn't feel right." Jack reached into his pocket and brought out a slightly mangled corsage. "Will you go to prom with me?" He asked. Elsa smiled and slipped the corsage on. "Yes, yes I will." Jack smiled. "Well, if we want to go back to the dance, we have time." Jack said, glancing at clock. Elsa shook her head. "I have a better idea." She told him to wait in the front hall while she grabbed a few things.
