I felt blinded when I opened the door, did they put stadium lights in this room or something? Eventually my eyes adjusted, no it seems my theory was wrong, all the windows in this room were open and the lights were on which had equaled the blinding light compared to the dimmer hallway. There was no one in there, it was silent, just want I needed. Walking further inside I picked one of the many couches and put my bag down and started to sketch. It wasn't special, but I had been working on it for a while, studying different pictures and angles online to add on here, it wasn't perfect, but it was okay looking. It would probably be better when it was finished, however it was taking some time to finish since I was so picky about what went where and whether or not I should add something or leave something alone. It was a mountain side with a faded outline of a monastery- which I was going to cover in tiny roses and vines- and it'll take a while since it's set as if someone's looking at it from a distance so everything was smaller. I was really getting into my sketch within only a few seconds, but I was a bit too focused since I didn't notice someone come in behind him before they touched my shoulder making me jump and nearly make a dark mark over my sketch book, that I quickly snapped closed.
"Sorry princess, but the host club is closed today." When I looked over to see who had bothered me it was a blonde man with deep blue eyes, they almost seemed purple, maybe they were, but I wasn't about to stare at him to find out. He seemed like he would be the type to have a big ego. I wasn't going to feed into it. However I could have lived without the other two from my class.
"Hey we know you!" I didn't even notice these two until they spoke, and I instantly felt more annoyed, if this was a friend of their's he was probably just as annoying as they were. No wonder I already didn't like him. I looked around, there were quite a few people in the room now. I must have been seriously out of it since I didn't hear any of them come in.
"You're that girl from our class that refuses to speak to us!" Both of the red heads quickly made their way over to me and seemed annoyed about the fact I still wasn't speaking or acknowledging them. At least I was trying not to, but when I was crowded like this it was hard not to look at someone, the three around the couch I was sitting at took up most of my vision.
"Hikaru, Kaoru. You know this young girl?" The taller male spoke up again, he sounded confused, so they hadn't been complaining to their friend about me. That's good, I wasn't fond of the idea of a handful of people trying to annoy me. They were about to answer their friend but the boy, Haruhi, answered the blonde before they could.
"Yeah she's in our class. They've been bugging her all day with questions, and they're mad because she keeps ignoring them." His statement was very blunt and simple, at least he was telling the actual story, they would probably make it sound like they were the victims of it. It wasn't like I waved them over just to ignore them all day, they chose to do so on their own. I just wish they hadn't, annoying pricks.
"Ah Kokoro Miyuki. Yes you missed the first two days do to illness, am I correct?" Finally the three had parted and gave me so space so I could see one of their other friends. He had dark hair and glasses on, he was carrying around a notebook, and unlike the three closest to me, didn't seem to have the air of an idiot. Honestly he almost seemed frightening. I nodded to his question, I had no reason to ignore him, but the fact he knew why I was absent or even had the care to know about some freshman's attendance was scary. Though what worried me more was something else entirely... I really did put that down didn't I?
"How come you answered Kyouya-senpai, but..." Hikaru spoke up first complaining about how I at least nodded to one of their friend's but never him or his brother, it was simple enough. That one hadn't been annoying me with stupid questions all day.
"You never replied to us." His brother finished for him, and I would have pitied them and wrote a note, if I cared about their stupid feelings. They were just spoiled rich kids that weren't happy because they didn't get what they wanted, however Haruhi either had a lot of experience with them, or just got the idea.
"He hasn't been annoying her all day." I gave a miniscule nod to that, it was true, so someone had been paying attention. I just wish that it had rubbed off on those two. I didn't come to this school to get friends, I came to this school to get ahead in my life so that I can live comfortably on my own.
"Are not! They were just questions." They seemed offended about what he said, but it was true, they were annoying and they just got worse by the second, it was a headache just being near them I put my sketch book in my bag, I wanted to get out of here. They probably wouldn't care if I just walked out anyway. I was about to get up, but I was stopped.
"Hi!" The voice that stopped me belonged to the shortest person in this room, it was strange to see someone shorter than me, especially a boy. He almost looked like an elementary school kid, but he was wearing a high school uniform, so he was either super smart or just short. He had such an innocent air and I didn't want to make any quick judgement on this one's age just yet. "Do you want to have cake with me?" I started to shake my head no, he was hyper active no matter his age, and my opinion was that he didn't need anymore sugar. However when I turned down the offer he seemed sad, but he bounced back quickly and went to the tallest one in the room, he had dark hair too but it was shorter than the others and his face was neutral. he had yet to say anything and so far he was my favorite for that reason.
"Oh I'm sorry how rude we haven't introduced ourselves. I'm Tamaki Souh." The blonde guy spoke up again, and I turned my head, I didn't really care about their names, however he continued anyway ignoring the fact that I just wanted to leave and never see them again. At least for today. "That's Kyouya Ootori." He stated pointing to that guy with glasses, he still gave me a weird vibe, it was just strange how he knew about why I was absent. "You've already meet Hikaru, Kaoru, and Haruhi." Despite that he made sure to point at them anyway, but the red heads were already done with the conversation and seemed to be ignoring their friend. "He's Hani-senpai." Well he called him senpai, so that means that kid is actually older than him, so he was just short after all. That was a mystery solved, but it didn't honestly matter. "And that's Mori-senpai." The last of the group and the only one that hadn't said anything yet, so far I preferred him the most. I didn't even bother to try and look interested, everyone in this group would probably find a way to get on my nerves. I checked the time, I wanted to go home, but it was only 4:45... My mother wouldn't be here till 5:30. I had to hold on a bit longer.
"Guys if the club is closed I'm going home." Looks like I wasn't the only one that wanted to bail, but he could actually go home unlike me. He probably lived closer or had his own car to pick him up. He didn't seem to act like most of the rich kids here, but it was still too soon to really say and I didn't care enough to find out.
"But Haruhi! We were about to talk to Kokoro!" Tamaki was whining, goodness he seemed like he acted more like a brat than the red heads. Why couldn't they have come in later when my mother would have been waiting outside so that I wouldn't have to deal with all of them? Today was just inconvenient.
"Good luck with that she doesn't talk." The first thing those two have said all day that didn't annoy me, but it was true enough that maybe they would let me go and try to find somewhere else to sit for a while and wait for my mother. If the rest of them were anything like those two though, I doubted I would get out that easily.
"Huh? Why not?" Rather than looking at his friends, he looked at me- the girl who had yet to say a word- as if I was going to suddenly say anything now. However my face remained annoyed as I did my best to ignore him, it didn't seem like he was smart enough to notice that I didn't want to acknowledge him though.
"Uh hello." Suddenly there was a hand being waved in front of my face and the temptation to bite off one of his fingers was strong, but I held back. It wouldn't be smart to try and get sued by someone that can afford a uniform that cost more than everything in my house combined. Probably even more than the house itself.
"She's ignoring you boss." One of the red heads managed to say something else semi-intelligent, I was pretty sure it was Hikaru but I wasn't paying attention, however if they could tell why did they still bother me? Probably just because they were bored, that made me hate the pair that much more at the moment. It took some time but eventually Tamaki gave up and some of them started to go home, but I was stuck there listening to Tamaki who had decided to start explaining needless things to me about this 'host club' and himself. I did my best to ignore him, and anyone else that tried to speak to me. When the door opened it managed to catch everyone's attention.
